News:
1. Airport Day at Murray Field in Eureka is Saturday September 10, 2005.
2. Larry Buerer is putting on a contest for Electric Powered Gliders on
Sunday September 18, 2005.  Actually, any electric plane or glider is
eligible.  The rules are structured so that any R/C plane (no "wet" power)
has a reasonable chance of winning.  Start time is 9:30 AM SHARP! At the Elk
River site. The exact field will be chosen the day of the contest.  Look for
the parked cars and people.  Should be lots of fun!
3. The October club meeting will be our traditional Swap Meet.  October 5th.
Excess club property will be available for purchase (videos, books, a winch,
sun shade tent, etc).   Bring some stuff you would like to trade away or
sell.
4. Election of officers will be in November.
5. Year End Dinner will be in December.

Meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM.

Contest Report:

Glider only contest in July.  Precision Thermal Duration with spot landing.
Old fashioned event, Joe, Ronny and Jess were the only contestants.  Joe won
(had one perfect round), Jess and Ronny followed.
Good thermal conditions this day at Elk River site.  Ronny and Joe each flew
glider flights of over 30 minutes after the contest had ended.
High Starts still work as launch devices.  We don't need no electric motors!

December Event:

End of the year dinner
Come to the meeting and your dues are considered paid for the next year!
Bring friends or anyone else who is interested in our hobby.  Everyone who
likes model airplanes is welcome!
