In the small parking lot in the western end of the park. This lot is located on the eastern side of Staring Lake Parkway, 0.3 miles from the traffic light at the intersection of Pioneer Trail and Staring Lake Parkway.
Route:
The park has roughly a 2 1/4 mile loop through the varying habitat. This route works well for groups because the trails loop out and back to the parking lot. Runners can join or leave the group at varying distances, stop for fluids or restroom ("outhouse") facilities.
This route is well maintained throughout the winter.
