July 29 - August 6, 2005 - �O5 MIDWEST NRLHF RENDEZVOUS � Ontonagon, MI, located on

the southwestern shore of Lake Superior in Michigan�s beautiful Upper Peninsula.

 

The grassy and flat approximate 200-acre rendezvous site is along the Ontonagon River just south

of the village of Ontonagon, the oldest white settlement on the southern shores of the �big lake�, the

shores of Gitchee Gumee.  While Ontonagon is short on stoplights and traffic, it�s long on friendly

people, emerald green forests, crystal-clear water, and the Milky Way sparkling overhead at night.

Early set-up begins July 25th with no early set-up charge for pre-registered participants.  Those

registering at the gate will be charged an early set-up fee.  Rendezvous rules will take effect

July 29th at 10 a.m.and continue through closing ceremonies on Aug. 6th.  Gate hours: 9a.m.-5p.m.

daily.  Those who wish to maintain a primitive atmosphere will be respected and provided for well

outside of the visiting public area.  All clothing, lodges, and accoutrements must be in keeping with

the period of 1640-1840 in North America.  Firewood, water, trash pick-up, and hooters provided. 

Ice available for purchase on site.  A limited amount of on-site modern and handicapped campsites

is available, but there are many places to stay in the surrounding area.
