Everyone must be held responsible, for not only their own safety, but the safety of their fellow shooters! Safety rules apply to all and there are no exceptions ! Here are our safety rules that have worked for us for so long.
COMMON SENSE COMMON SENSE
1. The Range Officer is in charge at all times.( they are GODS on the range)
2. Know and obey all range commands
3. Range cones (orange caution) must be removed at each range prior to commencement of any shooting on that range.
4. Shooting will take place on designated ranges only
5. All firearms must remain unloaded until the range officer opens the range. Priming or capping will not be allowed without the range officers ' permission, and then only at the firing line.
6. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed on or behind any firing line, or in any building adjacent to any range while shooting is in progress. Violators will be asked to leave premises.
7. NO SMOKING on or near the gun range, or loading benches.
8. No tomahawks, throwing knives, flint and steel, matches or lighters allowed on the loading benches.
9. Only black powder and black powder substitutes may be used, there will be no exceptions allowed!
10. All pets must be on a leash.
11. All non-shooters will stay behind the fenced area of the shooting line and loading benches.
12. No shooter 18 or younger may use range facilities without adult supervision.
13. Ear and eye protection must be worn by all shooters
14. There will be NO shooting from the loading benches, you may shoot from the firing line only. There are shooting benches for this purpose!
In closing, we would like to say that each and every individual should consider themselves a range officer when it comes to SAFETY, and that there are many rules of the range that are not written. They must all be observed and practiced if we are to continue in this great sport of ours. Shoot, have fun, teach a youngster and loved one, above all BE SAFE!!!!!
