<PresidentJulianStarr> Two Questions....
<PresidentJulianStarr> 1. Is Ryan Caruso around?
<Rrakaloki> no
<PresidentJulianStarr> 2. How do we save?
<SirRobPeel> Yes, JMDaVinci is Rhodes.
<Rrakaloki> easily
<Austi> ok .. till they get here, if they can get here, perhaps I should take questions as a candidateHello .. JMDaVinci ... must be Jason Rhodes .. yes?
<JMDaVinci> Yes!
<JMDaVinci> This is me
<JMDaVinci> Hmm
<JMDaVinci> Mr. Caruso seems to be not online
<PresidentJulianStarr> alright, well I'm sure between one of you, someone can figure out how to save this
<Austi> A harty welcome to Mr. Rhodes
<SirRobPeel> Are you guys seeing Rhodes?
<Rrakaloki> FILE, QUIT, SAVE CHAT... and I'm not going to be answering for a long while.......*sigh*
<Rrakaloki> I am
<PresidentJulianStarr> alright then, as Moderator I will commence
<Austi> usually when a chat session is done you get the option to save it ... Yes TRistan we are seeing him.
<PresidentJulianStarr> Good Evening Gentlemen, are you all ready?
<JMDaVinci> Yes
<PresidentJulianStarr> the first question will go to Mr.Rhode
<JMDaVinci> Friends, I need toThank you.
<JMDaVinci> heehee
<JMDaVinci> odd chat
<Austi> I am Sir ...
<JMDaVinci> yes, Mr. starr?
<PresidentJulianStarr> you're quite welcome Mr.Rhode...the first question is, what will you do if you lose the race for Prime Executive?
<SirRobPeel> My ICQ is majorly acting up. Is anyone getting this?
<Rrakaloki> no
<PresidentJulianStarr> [Yes Mr.Abbey, welcome back]
<JMDaVinci> Serve in whatever function Tymaria will allow...if one of my opponents wants to nominate me to an office, I will accept. If....
<JMDaVinci> I am not given to a position, I will serve proudly
<JMDaVinci> In the House of Peoples
<Bill3000> Hello
<Rrakaloki> *golf clap*
<JMDaVinci> And to the best of my ability
<JMDaVinci> I will to act as a proud citizen
<JMDaVinci> Might I also add...
<JMDaVinci> Here, although I have been reluctant to do so in the fora...
<SirRobPeel> Ok, is Rhodes here?
<Bill3000> Nope
<Bill3000> Bill3000 hits someone with a rock
<JMDaVinci> That my two excellent opponents, who have shown their strengths ably in our competition, will both be offered positions in any Rhode Administration. If they shall accept. Their talents are too vast to waste.
<JMDaVinci> <finish>
<PresidentJulianStarr> Thank you Mr.Rhode
<Austi> ~looks over at Mr. Rhodes~ Claps hartely .. oops ..how is that spelled?
<PresidentJulianStarr> Mr.Scot, I pose to you the same question
<PresidentJulianStarr> what shall you do, if you lose the race for Prime Executive?
<Bill3000> I can't see him.... brb
<Austi> lol Julian
<JMDaVinci> Rhode
<JMDaVinci> heartily
<Austi> Thank you for that question Mr. Starr. May I first say that I appriciate this opportunity to speak and to debate my most worth opponent Mr. Rhodes.
<Austi> I also want to answer along with this questions that I intend to offer Mr. Rhodes and Mr. Cureso ... nope, that's not the spelling .. well you allknow who I mean ... War Void ... positions.
<Bill3000> can you tell me what Jason Rhode said? I missed it
<Bill3000> and I can't see him
<SirRobPeel> Nor can I.
<SirRobPeel> And he can't see us.
<Austi> I understand both of them are currently leaders of States within Tymaria and as such I will ask them to be on The Grand Council. But doing just one thing in Tymaria isn't going to be enough for anyone.
<Rrakaloki> Grand Council?
<JMDaVinci> I don'tI don't mean to interrupt - I think whenI think whenever anyone's done, we should put <finish> after our post.
<JMDaVinci> apologies.
<Austi> I intend to ask each and every citizen where they would like to serve and then to ask each and every Minister to make room for that citizen ... I am hopeful that should I not become Prime Executive the person who is elected will ask me to serve ... There are several places that I might be helpful .. Serving in the Ministry of Finance, or in the University, or with the Culture Ministry if one is established .... I am really willing to serve where the PE will want me to serve his administration.
<Bill3000> Can you ask Jason Rhode to go out and go back in the chat
<PresidentJulianStarr> Gentlemen, can each of you see each other?
<JMDaVinci> yes, I can see Mr. Scot
<JMDaVinci> And Rrakaloki
<JMDaVinci> And you Julian
<Bill3000> I can see Austi, UEC,
<JMDaVinci> Bill and Tristan I cannot
<Bill3000> Julien, and me
<Austi> <finish>
<PresidentJulianStarr> alright well thank you Mr.Scot
<PresidentJulianStarr> Tristan is not here
<JMDaVinci> oh.
<PresidentJulianStarr> I will limit responses to no longer then 4 minutes
<PresidentJulianStarr> we need to get this moving more fluidly
<PresidentJulianStarr> the next question goes back to Mr.Rhode
<PresidentJulianStarr> What is your position on a "Right to Secession" from Tymaria?
<Bill3000> I can't see him.... BAH
<JMDaVinci> thank youthank Tymaria is first and foremost a Union
<JMDaVinci> Tymaria is first and foremost a Union
<JMDaVinci> In which there are to be, I think, individuals primarily, grouped in these states, these regions, in one Confederation
<JMDaVinci> States and Regions are important,
<JMDaVinci> As is there culture,
<JMDaVinci> But Individuals, each of us, is the most important element of Tymaria.
<JMDaVinci> We are the sovereign Unit of this Nation
<JMDaVinci> I am happy to say I am not a Machiavellian
<JMDaVinci> Nor Alexandrian
<JMDaVinci> But a Tymarian
<JMDaVinci> Should a region wish to secede
<Bill3000> What's he saying?
<JMDaVinci> It may, but only through the approval of the House of Nations.
<JMDaVinci> If the united peoples wish it, then they may leave, and we may part as friends
<JMDaVinci> But we are not a congress
<JMDaVinci> of mutually selfish parties, ambassadors from disputing factions
<JMDaVinci> We are Tymarian, and respect the processes of law.
<JMDaVinci> And it shall be done by the law!
<JMDaVinci> Thank you.
<PresidentJulianStarr> no thank you, the same question to Mr.Scot
<Austi> oh .. Thank you .. let me point out that Bill can't see Jason and wants to
<JMDaVinci> what color is Bill's background?
<PresidentJulianStarr> perhaps Mr.Rhode should leave the chatroom then be invited back in?
<Austi> I don't know if we can make this happen for him but we should attempt.
<SirRobPeel> Maybe his N/A is the problem?
<JMDaVinci> Hm, should I leave real quick?
<SirRobPeel> Sorry for all this trouble, guys. this is my last try.
<JMDaVinci> Julian, Invite me back in
<JMDaVinci> I'm going to exit
<Bill3000> No, it's Jason Rhode himself if I'm right. Tell him to leave and come back
<JMDaVinci> Here we are
<JMDaVinci> Can Bill see me?
<Austi> I don't want States to leave the Union. I don't want things to get to such a point at all and I believe .... ..... shall I go on?
<JMDaVinci> please, Mr. Scot
<Austi> Bill? can you see Jason? .. Bill?
<Bill3000> Nope
<SirRobPeel> Bill nor I can see Jason.
<PresidentJulianStarr> order, order, order
<SirRobPeel> Can you see me, Austi?
<PresidentJulianStarr> who is having difficulty?
<Bill3000> ME
<SirRobPeel> Me
<JMDaVinci> I show four users in my chat bar
<JMDaVinci> Me, Austi, Starr and Rra Rrak
<Austi> ok ... I don't want to see .. yes tristan I see 6
<PresidentJulianStarr> I too see all six people
<SirRobPeel> I see 5.
<SirRobPeel> All but Rhodes
<JMDaVinci> this is odd
<Bill3000> I see 5 too
<Austi> I don't have AIM ...
<JMDaVinci> What about MSN?
<Austi> expand your boxes ...
<PresidentJulianStarr> AIM is easy
<SirRobPeel> I have.
<PresidentJulianStarr> so it Yahoo
<SirRobPeel> Do you have Yahoo?
<Bill3000> Nope
<JMDaVinci> We should continue to do it on here....I want the others to see, but this is problematic
<JMDaVinci> And this seems to be the one forum all have available
<Bill3000> /\
<Bill3000>
<Bill3000>
<JMDaVinci> Let me change my background
<PresidentJulianStarr> black background please
<PresidentJulianStarr> that works
<JMDaVinci> okay
<JMDaVinci> back there again
<JMDaVinci> let us proveed
<SirRobPeel> Ok, how about this: copy/paste everything Rhodes says after he says it in quotatons
<JMDaVinci> proceed
<Austi> NO, I'm sorry I don't ... have MSN that is
<SirRobPeel> no, wait, that's dumb
<SirRobPeel> Well, either we have one or we don't.
<SirRobPeel> If we do have one, four people will be able to do it
<JMDaVinci> HMMMMMwhat can we do here? perhaps we might forward our answers to those unseeing parties?
<Austi> .... Just keep going!
<SirRobPeel> better than nothing.
<SirRobPeel> yes
<SirRobPeel> continue.
<JMDaVinci> We'll post the transcript immediately afterwards
<Austi> is there a live chat room anyone knows about besides me ... we might go to one ..
<Rrakaloki> AIM
<PresidentJulianStarr> alright order, order
<SirRobPeel> Austi don't got AIM
<PresidentJulianStarr> Mr.Scot you may continue
<Austi> .....?
<PresidentJulianStarr> yes
<Austi> the question was ... what is my position on Secession ... correct Mr. Starr?
<Austi> I think there is not a single person / citizen of Tymaria that wants Secession. Our States joined together for a purpose ... secession will only be talked about if we do not continue in the atompsphere in which we are beginning ..
<Austi> I shall work for the Union to stay together and I believe every State will do the same. If a State decides they wish to do that we must be realistic ... and ask them to follow our laws ... but we must be realistic right now .. unless we (Tymaria) take over their current forums we will not have the ability to maintain the names and the person with EZ0op can start what they want or start that board up again ..
<Austi> I am basically for allowing people to follow their own desires in this game ... I don't want them to leave and will work so that it doesn't happen and so that no one wants to ...
<Austi> Thank you ...
<PresidentJulianStarr> no thank you
<PresidentJulianStarr> Mr.Scot, since you were interupted and to break the cycle
<JMDaVinci> Mr. Starr?
<JMDaVinci> Oh, pardon me.
<PresidentJulianStarr> the next question goes to you, and then Mr.Rhode will be asked a different question
<SirRobPeel> Point of order: Who asks questions?
<PresidentJulianStarr> Your Question Mr.Scot is what traits do you have, that will make you the better Prime Executive?
<Austi> Julian? ...
<Austi> all good questions Mr. STarr ... let me say that not being a solider is not a flaw, just as not being a professor or an artist is not a flaw ... it's just not the same as others ... I applaud our diversity ..
<Austi> The overwhelming trait I have that will make me the best Prime Executive is the ability, the skill, the knowledge and the desire to get our citizens involved and to bring others to Tymaria ... finding, helping them find .. the place within our Great Land that best suits their abilities ...
<Bill3000>
<PresidentJulianStarr> thank you, now on to Mr.Rhode
<JMDaVinci> yes, Mr. Starr?
<PresidentJulianStarr> Mr.Rhode, in the event that a foreign power, choses to attack Tymaria, how would you as Prime Executive react, namely if a particular Micronation has spammed us
<JMDaVinci> We must be clear that we've been attacked by a foreign power...
<JMDaVinci> And by whom. Of that we must be certain.
<JMDaVinci> As Prime, I will make sure our military intelligence is foolproof and superb.
<JMDaVinci> Once our ascertainment is airtight...
<JMDaVinci> Let it be said clearly that any attack against us will be made with full retaliation, and that I will not hesitate at any hour of the day or night to order movements.
<JMDaVinci> A brief story:
<Austi> I work to make Tymaria fun for all of us ... All citizens should be able to do the things they want to do .. I believe the key to activity in any micro-nation is finding a way to help people do the things they want to do without having to ask permission for every move. That is what will make me the BEST PRIME EXECUTIVE .... thank you ..
<JMDaVinci> 2000 years ago, a Roman Citizen could walk across the face of the known world free of the fear of molestation. He could walk across the earth unharmed, cloaked only in the protection of the words civus romanus': I am a Roman citizen. So great was the retribution of Rome universally understood as certain, should any harm befall even one of its citizens.
<JMDaVinci> Let the word go forth from this time and place, that we will bear burdens and hardship to make the same claim for our people, that:
<JMDaVinci> "I am a citizen of Tymaria"
<JMDaVinci> Thank you.
<PresidentJulianStarr> you're welcome, please from now on, lets be more brief, no need for apologies
<PresidentJulianStarr> a follow up question - what nation attacked us, and a follow up point [2,000 years ago, a man named Jesus Christ was molested]
<JMDaVinci> this would go for any nation, or any rogue terrorist
<JMDaVinci> I can only speculate as to the particularities...but Lord knows, it could be anyone.
<JMDaVinci> what's the exact question, Mr. Starr?
<PresidentJulianStarr> just that you mentioned a foreign power did attack us, I was asking who?nevermind, its time for me to ask Mr.Scot a question
<Austi> ....... Mr. Starr, is Mr. Rhodes here still?
<PresidentJulianStarr> I mis spoke
<PresidentJulianStarr> my apologies
<Austi> .... yes
<JMDaVinci> Yes
<PresidentJulianStarr> Mr.Scot, suppose a reactionary religious movement swept across Tymaria, or for that matter any revolutionary type organization, how would a Scot administration handle this
<PresidentJulianStarr> yes, however just a quick follow up, would you ever ban a political party, such as a "Nazi" or "Communist" Party?
<Austi> by announcing they have freedom of association, freedom of speech, freedom of movement within the law ... outside the law they will be dealt with ... thank you ..... does that answer your question Mr. STarr or shall I go on?
<Bill3000> ...
<Austi> The Prime EXecutive only has the authority to make such a drastic move in times of great crisis ... having a political party of any view is not such a crisis ... thus such a move would have to be initiated with the advice and consent of The House of Nations .. and then I would strongly consider a veto ,, I would have to see that they are doing harm .. and then if they are I would expect our mighty military to be our first line of defense ..
<PresidentJulianStarr> ok very well
<PresidentJulianStarr> Now a question for both Mr.Rhode who shall answer first and Mr.Scot
<JMDaVinci> shoot!
<PresidentJulianStarr> Mr.Rhode, suppose another Federation exists out in Micronations, which seeks to merge with Tymaria, would you rule out merging Tymaria with another?
<JMDaVinci> Of course not!
<JMDaVinci> If the people should want it, and it should be agreeable to them, and if our ideals, our values and dreams were to be kept alive and whole, certainly I would advocate it. Mergers, to me are the primary ways in which states grow.
<JMDaVinci> Tymaria came from such a great union, and an even greater state might result from another merger.
<JMDaVinci> We would have to be careful about what it stood for....but yes, enthusiastically yes.
<JMDaVinci> <f>
<Austi> a difference of opinion is not cause for banning.
<PresidentJulianStarr> thank you, and now Mr.Scot, the same question
<Austi> .......... I expect that merger shall be a goal of the Scot administration .. I expect first to ask the House of Nations to define by law our process in detail ... I then hope to ask Interland to merge with Tymaria .. and I hope tthat as a part of our foreign policy we can offer merger to those nations that need a place to grow and to make their expeirence with micro-nations as fun as ours ...
<Austi> We can get to know others as they become STates withing Tymaria .. thank you .. oh ,, can I have that g back ? .............
<PresidentJulianStarr> excuse me Mr.Scot?
<Bill3000> ggg?
<Bill3000> GGG!
<SirRobPeel> *murmur in the crowd*
<SirRobPeel> *audience whispers to each other* Pssst...what's this "g"?
<PresidentJulianStarr> alright, Mr.Rhode, do you believe that non-English speaking people [Micronationalists] have a future in Tymaria? If so, what will that role be?
<JMDaVinci> Yes. Anyone is welcome. We must remember arrivals to America did not speak the language of this land upon their embarkment upon this great adventure. Although communication would be difficult, I believe we could work out a system wherein might be found a framework by which even those micronationalists who do not speak the "lingua franca" can contribute.
<JMDaVinci> And you don't have to speak English to contribute things. There is that which soars above words, my friends - such as love of country.
<JMDaVinci> <f>
<PresidentJulianStarr> Thank you
<PresidentJulianStarr> Mr.Scot, and a different question to you sir
<Austi> umm, at the end of within .. nevermind .. thanks Bill
<Austi> ... yes .........
<Bill3000> LOL :-)
<PresidentJulianStarr> What do you view as the greatest challenge the Federal Government will have in Tymaria?
<SirRobPeel> *audience murmurs as Tristan Abbey hurriedly leaves the room to take care of important business*
<Bill3000>
<Bill3000> Bill3000 asks to be excused and heads for the toilet
<Austi> That is not yet revealed .. we must be careful to provide for all the possibilities that we can foresee ... if we don't provide for Foreign Affairs it will be the most difficult .. if we don't provide for our military , attacks will be the most difficult ... if we don't provide for the functioning of our Ministries this area will be the most difficult ... the same goes for our States .. we must provide for their growth, for their culture ... in short .. the only major challenge we will have in Tymaria is the thing we don't provide for .. and with the great talent we have we can provide for all these things and more . . thank you .............
<PresidentJulianStarr> your welcome
<JMDaVinci> Mr.Rhode, do you believe that the government of a Micronation, must be pragmatic, meaning, the Ministries should be practical, with real powers, instead of simulated powers?Mr. Starr, how exactly do you define simulated from "real"?
<JMDaVinci> could you clarify?
<PresidentJulianStarr> alright, meaning instead of having "The Ministry of Nuclear Science" which essentially would do nothing in a Micronation, we would limit Ministries to practical affairs, such as Web design, password protection, recruition of new citizens, etdc, in other words assigning real tasks to Ministers rather then invented ones
<JMDaVinci> to my mind, every Ministry *will* have a practical purpose
<JMDaVinci> There is a ministry to deal with the plumbing of national affairs...
<JMDaVinci> i.e., design, passwords
<JMDaVinci> but just as real is the need for our defense
<JMDaVinci> our relations with other powers
<JMDaVinci> our economics can have real import, too in our activities
<JMDaVinci> even a University, and Research are real
<JMDaVinci> So yes, practicality...
<JMDaVinci> but an extended version, a new ideal of what "practical" means.
<JMDaVinci> Beneficial to all.
<JMDaVinci> <f>
<PresidentJulianStarr> thank you
<PresidentJulianStarr> Now I will ask you both the same question, then we will move on to a new phase, where the candidates will be able to ask each other questions
<PresidentJulianStarr> my final question for this phase is, and I'll start with Mr.Scot
<PresidentJulianStarr> How will Prime Executive Scot make Tymaria a distinctive micronation? [In relation to such Micronations as Reunion, Corvinia, TorHavn or a Sealand]
<Austi> ... First .. Tymaria shall not have a ruler over us but a leader and servant before us with a Scot ADministration ... there will be reall authority in our Ministers .. that is something we don't see in most micro-nations ... if any .. we shall move forward and bemn (how is that spelled) .. we shall be different because we do things better ... our citizens will be able to serve , not just those who are in our legislature .. not just those elected to the Executive office ... we shall have citizens who come up with ideas and who can do them without having to ask everyone .. (within the law of course) ... people won't be telling others you can you can't etc .... This will make us the Nation to join!
<Austi> thank you
<JMDaVinci> Mr. Starr?
<PresidentJulianStarr> How will Prime Executive Rhode, make Tymaria a distinctive micronation?
<PresidentJulianStarr> The same question to you Mr.Rhode, how will you as Prime Executive make Tymaria a distinctive micronation, in relation to other micronations such as reunion, corvinia, torhavn, sealand, etc
<JMDaVinci> Ah.
<JMDaVinci> *I* shall not make Tymaria distinct...
<JMDaVinci> for it already is, by virtue of its people!
<JMDaVinci> I can only pledge to do MY part by being the most vigorous and energetic Executive yet seen
<JMDaVinci> The nations you name...

Re: DEBATE PART 1
I certainly hope Communist parties won't be banned.

Also, I hate ICQ. AIM is much easier to use, especially chats.

Re: DEBATE PART 1
I agree AIM is far simpler, however Austi Scot does not have AIM. The debate went well, we were nearly up to the part, whereby candidates would be able to question each other, however due to technical and time constraints, such an event did not occur.

Re: DEBATE PART 1
Um, it's kinda hard for me to get on ICQ on nights or days durning the week since i'm up at 5AM for work and don't get back until 5PM at night. 12 hours, every day of the week except Saturday and Sunday.

Is there any way we could have another debate on the weekend?

It's kinda unfair to be excluded from the debates because you have to work for a living, IMHO....
