GOV-007: Articles of Impeachment against Prime Austi Scot
Since, at this time, the Prime Executive is on vacation, I will delay submitting these articles until such time as he has returned and indicated whether he is willing to accept a compromise on the issues they pertain to.
From the Constitution, Article 2:
"5. The House of the People shall have the power to pass regular measures and to impeach the Prime Executive or a High Judge with a simple (50% + 1) majority.
7. The House of the Nations shall have the power to confirm executive appointments to ministries with a simple majority and to declare war on the request of the Chancellor with a 75% majority. It shall ratify treaties and remove ministers with a super majority. It shall hold impeachment trials of the Prime Executive or a High Judge, expelling him/her with a super majority.
10. The Prime Executive may, at any time, be called before the Houses of the Republic to explain and defend his/her policies and decisions. "
Grants us the right to call the Prime Executive here to account for his actions, and, if we deem necessary, face impeachment.
Article 5:
"3. All citizens have the right to voice their opinion freely and without repercussion.
5. The presses have the freedom to print without restriction. The State may not impede or interfere with the presses.
6. All citizens have the right to assemble peacefully in petition, protest or demonstration.
7. All citizens are entitled to a fair, just, and expedient public trial where innocence is until guilt is proven. No citizen shall be found guilty of the same crime twice.
8. No citizen shall be seized and imprisoned with out a warrant issued by a court of law. No citizen�s property shall be searched or seized without a warrant issued by a court of law. "
ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT:
THAT Prime Austi Scot did infringe upon the above rights of Peter Hickey and Peter Krembs
THAT He did illegally and unlawfully ban said individuals without prior warnings, due process, or just cause
THAT He did deprive Ministers Bill3000 and Dafydd, Chancellor Jason Rhode, and diverse other individuals of the powers necessary to the fulfillment of their position's duties
THAT Said deprivations were done illegally and unlawfully, without prior warning, due process, or just cause
THAT He did publically humiliate said persons by reversing their actions without prior warning or consultation, due process, or just cause
THAT He stands in contempt of the Judicial System, the Ministers and foreign visitors, whose positions and rights he has unlawfully revoked.
THAT In so doing, he has violated his oath to uphold the Constitution of Tymaria.
RESOLVED, That the Prime Executive Austi Scot shall be summoned here to account for his actions.
Further resolved that impeachment hearings shall be brought about to remove Prime Executive Austi Scot from office.
Further resolved that Prime Executive Austi Scot be summoned before the Supreme Court of Tymaria to face charges of abuse of power and violation of his oath to unhold the Constitution.

Yes, to put it bluntly, I do want attention. Not for myself, but for the actions that Prime Austi Scot has taken, and the gray areas they have exposed in the Tymarian Constitution. Read my reply on the General forum for more on this.

I must hasten to support my longtime friend Ed Conway. As a colleague of his for a long time in the micronational world, Mr. Conway has been the model of probity and good faith. I assure you that this action he takes not for his own personal glory, Lyrica's, or anyone else's. He gains very little in terms of prestige or power by sticking his neck out.
Mr. Conway cannot benefit from this, and indeed seems to risk some of his own popularity in doing so - indeed, his aim seems to be not to *remove* Scot from office, but merely use the impeachment proposition as attention-grabbing mechanism to bring up questionable issues, which we have all wondered about in our own time. I support Austi Scot, but I too have been troubled recently by unfolding events. We ought to be proud that in this country, as in any true democracy, we not only have the RIGHT to question our leaders, but the RESPONSIBILITY to do so.
At the same time, such questioning should not become a "witch hunt," as Mr. Noseworthy has pointed out. We must strike a middle ground between monarchy...and Lyrica.  (J/K) Surely there is a way of calling our leaders to check within a rational framework. And that is exactly what Maj. Conway has done.
Do I agree with Maj. Conway on everything he has posted? Not always - for example, I believe that Jacobus ought to have a new start in Tymaria. Obviously, we all have objections, but your behavior is shameful if you ridicule Maj. Conway, rather than attacking his proposition. I, for one, can testify to his patriotism. You may disagree with him, but do not cast aspersion on his character. And Jacobus, that goes for you too. "Janus" isn't going to help your case at all.

Now that the nations eyes are firmly on the problems at hand (such as a complete lack of directions or laws regarding how the prime should proceed in certain situations), the purpose of these articles has been fulfilled.
As a token of my confidence that Prime Executive Austi Scot will address these issues, I hereby withdraw these articles from consideration, and formally apologise to Austi Scot and his supporters for using such drastic means.
I ask that the acting Prime close this topic, so that all may see these articles are no longer being considered.
