5-23-2000: Passing Time

I've been thinking about better ways to play passing time in the game. One simple thing that I'd like to do is allow you to set some sort of general goal each season, per PC, and at the end of the season they can roll a relevant skill (with modifiers for difficulty) to see how they've done. Examples include Tison applying his Archeology skill to find little trinkets in the Rubble (regular skill roll), Arcus orating Sun Domers to change their ways (needs a critical just to have a tiny impact), Tarranyr using his bargaining skills to make money grow (regular skill roll), Caernak meditating to Zola Fel asking for another holy mission (Ceremony roll, unknown difficulty), etc. You would get a practice check (an experience check roll to get +d6-2 or +1), assuming you spent a number of hours equal to your skill (-modifier). I feel like I have not let you use the non-combat skills enough, and lots of people have had many goals that I have abstracted without any dice rolls or skill applications. Anyway, think about it.
