So, you spent some time publicizing your upcoming raid on the Krarshti temple and looking for Lassiter. One night Tarranyr and Chingua were headed back to Wyrmsjaw after a day in New Pavis. They were hiking a familiar path thru the ruins of old Pavis when Chingua's nostrils stung with the stench of Chaos, and Tarranyr heard furtive movement nearby. The two cast protection and tried to hide, but their foes were close. A cloaked man with a big net came after Tarranyr and a familiar one-armed huge ogre in chainmail with a glowing bastard sword harassed Chingua. Tarranyr was netted and confused; the next thing he knew Chingua was standing over the bodies of both foes. You killed the big priest and took the other (Krarshti ogre) captive back to Wyrmsjaw. You recovered some loot including a very nice sword for Tarranyr, too. Bendrath's interrogation didn't turn up anything so you slew the evil captive.
Lassiter was in town briefly but it appears that he was scared off and left town again. You went thru the Rubble to explore the waterlogged entrance to The Black. On the way a party of bandits tried to wrangle 100L out of you, but you were not impressed by their inept archery and they fled, revealing that they were only a few people rather than the 30 or so it seemed. You met a Lunar adventurer party by Ogre Island but didn't have much to talk about. You searched the marshes on the southwest side of the Island and soon Tarranyr found something. Something that grabbed him and almost killed him, but Ssrussut, Rup, Caernak, and Pachala came to the rescue and killed what turned out to be a walktapus. Another one was slain by Dorgon easily (twice, including its ghost!) and a third (which was immune to metal) wrestled with Arcus briefly before Pachala's coral spear managed to slay it.
You explored a sunken Pavic boat on the river bottom and found an old chest full of coins. Dorgon also found the small tunnel entrance to the Black, which was a tight squeeze a ways in. Ssrussut attacked the big gorp that was waiting in there, and with some disruption spells (boosted to avoid pesky reflection) you eventually wasted it and lots of people left happy with power checks. [GM note: I think that wasn't the best roleplaying... faced with chaos you're not going to sit around waiting for each person to get POW checks before you slay it. Next time I should complain more forcefully, or have a demonic gorp army descend on you from behind!] You burned the walktapus bodies, explored the island a little (surprisingly empty) and took the ashes back to Wyrmsjaw to dispose of them.
