The Eye of Wakboth is No More!
PAVIS. In a stunning victory over Chaos, a combined group of River Voices and Uz heroes slew the Eye of the Devil in its ancient lair beneath the Old City. After several probing attacks to eliminate the Chaos tainted defenders of the Eye, a local group of heroes, predominantly servants of Zola Fel, teamed up with a group of Uz led by Oleg Stonebreaker, Karg's Son, to eliminate this threat to Pavis once and for all. Stonebreaker, who strikes fear in the hearts of all humans, slew many of the Eye's appendages and servants and bore the brunt of the Eye's fierce magical attacks. He could not be reached for comment, and is rumored to be recovering from the fight in the Troll Stronglands. Woe betide humanity if he comes to the City! The final blow was struck by Sunoc, close friend of Oleg Stonebreaker.
The River Voices and some of their companions are rumored to have proceded directly to the God Plane for some form of Hero Quest. Chendry Lamori, devotee of Humakt and participant in the battle, had this to say: "It was a hard fight; afterwards there was this huge explosion of acid, and then a big vortex appeared. We could see a waterfall through it and that Caernak guy claimed it was some kind of Leaping Place. A bunch of the guys went through, but hey, I'm not all that keen on this whole river cult thing, and it was definitely Miller time for this future Sword." Pavic Axeman Groloday was also seen celebrating and spreading word of the great victory.
Unknown at this time are the whereabouts of one Elohwyn, Red Lady of Vinga, rumored to have ties with upstart fire/fertility cults and various Sartarite resistance movements. She may have joined her comrades in their journey to the God Plane, or simply returned to her compound, purportedly located somewhere in the rubble.
No Lunars were present at the destruction of the Eye. Representatives of the Empire were unavailable for comment.
