What has happened so far: Tison got the dagger from Arcus that night, and as soon as the gates opened the next morning he ran it to Wyrmsjaw to talk to Elohwyn et al. (e-mail conversations ensued). Morta was buried in the LM temple that day. It's 3 days to Puzzle Canal. We will pick up from there and follow the events linearly.
Minor issues that I'll get off the table here:
There was a Firshala holy day before you left for Dyskund. The ceremony went poorly and Firshala refused to grant new magics, cutting the ceremony short. She threatened to withdraw her magicks from the fort if you did not have at least five new initiates to propitiate her on the next holy day. Idylla is working full time at hunting down recruits in the Pavis pubs, telling her tale of this wonderful fire spirit Firshala and her special blessings. She is being careful about what she says and who she says it to, which so far has inhibited her recruiting. She remains optimistic.
Pachala returned from his clan and Storm Khan with Dorgon and two Agimori recruits, one male hunter and one female hunter both interested in following the Bull with Pachala and Dorgon. The people of the Fireblood clan listened carefully to Pachala's tales and questioned him constantly. They were scrutinizing him to see if he had promise. The end result is that they remained standoffish about his potential, but had no doubts about his dedication to Storm Bull. He may be a good warrior, yes, but they were not sure what kind of leader he would be. Ankubi Broostalker told him to focus on his leadership skills and come back to the clan in one year. He was more positive about Pachala's future and hinted that Pachala could soon become a new khan in the Pavis region; one is needed badly.
The Fireblood clan spoke little to Dorgon, except for the Storm Bull initiates who welcomed him warmly with kvass and sable meat. They taught him some new songs of the Bull that showed a new, different, and oddly intelligent side of Storm Bull.
Ankubi's parting words to Pachala were that he would decide on the matter of Dyskund by the next holy day. He is considering leading his warriors there to investigate, but welcomes Pachala to bring the party back there beforehand. Nomads that Pachala speaks to of the Pola Clan say that they will not live to see the next season; whooping braves rode off into the dust soon after.
Long overdue rains have come to the Desolation Hills and Rockwood mountains beyond. Luckily they have come soon enough to save much of the valley folk's crops. The harvest will in fact be average because now there is more than enough water for everyone. Some fields have flooded, but the farmers do not complain. Word spreads that a River Voice quested for these rains, and by the time you return from Puzzle Canal, people will be seeking out Caernak to gift him and bless him. The other River Voices will receive much attention, too. By season's end, gifts worth 1000L will be lavished on Caernak, with 200L/person to the others. People listen eagerly to your every word; you figure if there was ever a time to make your thoughts known, now is the best time to speak your mind. Next season you may be all but forgotten.
