You inspected the Ernalda temple and didn't find out much; it seemed clean enough. In the meantime, the 2 guards (Pachala and Tarranyr) were befuddled and Fethal was torn to pieces as they watched, confused.
The nomads headed off to track the ogre children, with Caernak. Arcus took a local woman and her child by mule to Queenscliff. Along the way he heard moans, found an injured woman, helped her, and was seduced into an odd dream, then she disappeared (by the way... bad news: Arcus has lost 1 CON from that experience). He went back to Black Rock to report this, then continued on his way to Queenscliff where he reported the happenings at Black Rock and got Haloric Longfarm to come back with him.
The nomads and Caernak tracked down and slaughtered about 2/3 of the children, quite easily. They tried to catch up with the last 1/3 (had split off from rest) but got lost in the grasslands near Horn Gate (see Ken's post).
Tarranyr and Tison were left alone the first 2 nights, guarding the villagers. They were haunted by strange visions, chased a lot of them, and got pretty spooked as the Red Toad spirit seemed to be coming to eat them in the Yelmalio Temple. Then it turned out to be nothing (or invisible), and they'd blown a lot of magic. Shortly after that, Tison was surprised from behind by a giant naked woman, who started strangling him. Tarranyr didn't notice at first (was out patrolling nearby), then Tison got a lucky shot to the head w/the blasting rod and killed the succubus, which was "The Mistress" of Black Rock. The villagers were amazed and soon enough you (with Arcus's help, once he and Haloric arrived) their tongues were loosened, so they told the story.
About 15 yrs ago Fethal (then the headman's son) loved a poor villager but couldn't marry her, and was sent off to the Sun Dome to become a templar. Before he left he raped her, then she drowned herself in the pond with shame. Fethal came back, became headman, and the succubus formed. It enslaved Fethal and anyone else of power. Resistance met with "accidents." The succubus impregnated the local women w/ogre children (the villagers say some other things were spawned, too, sometimes) and the children killed any normal children in town (hence no 14-17 yr olds). Varloz (Fethal's son) became their leader and the town was doomed.
Now Arcus and Haloric are there with Tarranyr and Tison. No word from nomads yet. You may interrogate the villagers with Haloric and Arcus. Questions?
