The principle purpose of formatting is to attract attention.
To much formatting distracts from the points of emphasis.
The "five W's"(Who, What, When, Where, and Why) are necessary for any type of announcement or flyer.
Do not use the headings Who, What, When, Where and Why in your flyer.
Announcements should be brief and to the point.
Proper formatting includes:
different fonts, color, size, borders, background, centering and spacing
For the purpose of this unit do not use Word Art Text Boxes or Clip Art
