| Course Description Students will be introduced to computers through MS Office. The course will begin with basic keyboarding and then progress to word processing. The second semester students will be introduced to database, spreadsheet, presentation and desktop publishing. Grading Work Habits (30% of total grade) Each student receive 10 work habit points per week. Points are deducted for poor work habits. Work habits include: Attendance, tardies, internet usage, attitude, following directions, cooperation and care of equipment. Assignments (30% of total grade) Quizes and Tests (40% of total grade) Class Policies: No internet use without permission. No playing games on the internet. No food or drink in computer lab. Be on time and prepared to work. Tardies cost two work habit points. Unexcused absences cost five work habit points.) No talking without permission during the warm up period (the first 10 minutes of class). Take care of classroom equipment and materials. Do not print without permission. Listening to music in allowed with head phones. Please do not roll around in the chairs. Students are not allowed to leave class without an offical note or to go to the restroom. Only one student may leave the class at a time. Please do not get ready to leave until permission is given. |
