
Oxbow Park, Zollman Zoo

| "The Newborn" - When the zoo picked up a new porcupine, they
had no idea they were getting two. A few days later, this little guy
appeared in the cage. Normally, he hides in the back, but he was out
munching on a tree branch on this day.

| "Laid-back Badger" -
Badgers are normally thought of as a bit more threatening than this...

| "Queen of the Plains" -
The bison once ruled North America, roaming in numbers that can't really
be imagined. This mother, and her baby, are in a large enclosure with
several others. They have plenty of room and yet are accessable to the
public, providing you want to walk a while. To get this picture, I had
to hike to the far end of the enclosure, and then wait for her to
finally "strike a pose".
