Dave "Shifty" Wagner finished out the last night of racing by starting 13th and driving his way up to 2nd. His 2nd place finish clinched the 2009 Championship. Shifty said "we came here to win a race and didn't think about the points until the last night. It was an unbelievalbe experience." Landon also started in 19th and drove his way up to the 6th posiiton. Finsihing 4th in the points. RPM Racing has been making the journey to New Smyrna for 8 years and had never won a race at the track. This season they picked up 1 win with Landon Cassill and 1 win with Dave Wagner. Plus Wagner never finished out of the top 5. He had 3 2nd places a 3rd, 4th, and a 5th. Over 35 cars were racing in the ASA type Late Models from all over the U.S. and Canada. We could have never done it without all our Sponsors. It takes a lot of money to make that journey and we could not afford to do it without all of you. So this Championship is yours too. We would also like to thank Rich Lushes, Keith and Brian Elliott, the bug, Boris, Robin, Mary, Jay and Billy. It was 9 days of hard work but it paid off in the end.

Dave Wagner started on the outside pole of the 25 lap feature. He would take the lead on lap one and never look back. That was his first ever feature win at New Smyrna Speedway. Also he would take over the points lead going into the last night. After the race he had this to say "I really have to thank all my sponsors R&D Auto Repair, Automotive Electric, Buckeye Car Wash, State Street Tire, Baker Performance Parts, Hastings, IAC, Gregs, and all the associate sponsors. You know it takes a lot to get here and if it wasn't for these sponsors or as we call them friends we would never be able to do this. I would also like to thanks the crew: Keith, Brian, Bug, Boris, Mark, Robin (who spots and only had say clear once last night, what a hard job that was) and especially Rob and Mary." I then ask Dave about his points lead going into the last night he said this "It is what it is".
Landon also had a decent night. After starting sixteenth he drove his way up to ninth.
Tonight is our final night at New Smyrna Speedway and we cap it off with a 50 lap feature event. We qualify today at 4 pm and qualifying results will be posted shortly after qualifying. Stay Tuned!
Landon Cassill win on night 2 at New Smyrna Speedway. Cassill who started in 8th made his way to the front and took the lead on lap 15 of 25. Cassill went on to pick the win. Cassill had this to say after the race "I'm proud to get the first win for RPM at New Smyrna and really want to thank the team for there support."
Dave Wagner started fifth tonight and finished forth. Wagner's car got tight in the center of the corner. So far Shifty has finished 4th and 5th at the World Series of Asphalt. Tomorrow is our day off and we need it.
