Dymphna Sadira
One item I thought up ages ago that would be fun and useful is a pair of two-way talking/listening pictures. Methinks it needs explanation though, eh?

Basically, you would need to have two pictures (frame and all) that would be echanted. A sound picked up by one could be heard coming from the other. Would work both ways.

It would be useful in spying, as you could listen in on a conversaion, although you woul dhave to very quiet, as otherwise the person you are listening in on would start to wonder why they could noises froming from their picture. ("Hey! That babbling brook is laughing at me!")

Also, it would be spiffy to put in two rooms when you just wanted to chat. As well as for pranks, too. Convince someone that their picture of talking to them. They'd go nuts, especially if they couldn't figure out exactly where the noise would be coming from! *giggles*

(Thought up with Yukiko Shima)
"Boots of Punting" (*giggles* Don't it sound funny? It's spiffy!) Now, no laughing. Yes the idea for this was a joke but was very well thought out afterwards.

The Boots help to add strength to a kick (a punt). It pretty much doubles the ordinary strength of that kick, so a person would be able to kick something twice as far as they usually would. It was designed to be a spiffy weapon against kobolds *giggles* but actually, they woudl be very useful in games such as soccer. A normally weak-legged character would be able to add force to a low, forward kick.

(NOTE: The low forward motion is what helps to trigger it--the effects are not employed in high, offensive kicks, nor in kicking backwards. These limitations were added to keep the Boots from being too powerful. They were only really useful for play, or against really short monster. Like kobolds. And if you don't know what a kobold is, then go read a book. *giggles again* Teasing. They are very short, two foot tall monsters that look vagely lizardlike but walk erect and are humanoid. Primitive but tricky, and kinda mean. Anyway, back to the main point of the post.)

I doubt that the Boots of Punting would be very useful in wizarding games, as those tend to involve brooms or wands, but if a wizard wished to compete in any Muggle sports, they would be spiffy. Besides, they are just cool! And lotsa the creatures in the wizarding world are small enough that the Boots of Punting would be very effective.

Dust of Forgetfulness
Very easy to explain. A simple, sparkly dust that is contained in a very small bag. Looks must like transparently white faerie dust. When a small amount is placed on the palm and blown onto the head of the victim (it doesn't matter if they are facing the dust or not, it just needs to settle on their heads somewhere, be it back, front, side, top, or what have you) it erases their short term memory.

One dose (a pinch of the dust) will erase three minutes of memory from the victim. More can be used in order to erase longer spans of time, but if the dosage is too high it could have terrible effects (such as erasing important parts of a person's memory.) Also, the victim has a higher chance of realizing the memory loss if they are unable to recall too far back. More than the regular three minute pinch has the tendency to make too many differences between what they last remember, and where they are not. Even small amounts can, of course, be used, and are very unlikely to be noticed.

Another small problem with using large amounts of the dust--the victim is likely to realize there seems to be a rather large amount of it on them. Small amounts are not noticed, but the dust is kinda glittery. So dumping an entire bag over someone's head is both going to make that person realize that they don't remember anything they did that week, and also that there seems to be a lot of glitter in their hair. So, again, the dust is best used to erase but a few minutes time.

Amulet of Repellence
Very useful in keeping away people or animals that you don't want around. The amulet is a simple, round, silver locket, without any outer adornments, that hangs from a silver chain. If you wish to keep away all members of a species of animal, place a piece of fur from an example of the species inside the locket, and close it. From then on, that animal will feel compelled to steer clear of the amulet. (Which means if you don't wear it, it doesn't work.) To keep away a specific person or animal, you need to place a hair or eyelash or such inside the locket, and whisper an incantation to attune the amulet to just that person/animal. (Otherwise, it will continue on with the general repelling, instead of merely that one being.) The amulet is small enough to fit in your palm, and is thus easily concealed if need be.

Cauldron of Creation
Working somewhat opposite of the 'pensieve', it gives the user ideas rather than a place to deposit them. However, it's not recommended for inexperienced people due to the fact that since an incantation needs to be used to make it work properly, a wrong word or two could result in ideas one doesn't want, or in bad cases, memory loss.
