Authors Notes: I'm gonna talk about the new Star Wars flick, but because of spoilers I'm going to make a loooooooooong space between this and the actual commentary...thing...and it's in smaller font because Geocities sucks.

Okay, first things first, I noticed right away that Anakin and Obi-Wan are flying what appear to be prototypes for TIE Fighters, without the certain special features of the TIEs, i.e. these fighters can actually take a hit. I guess Palpatine wanted to save money by using sheilds that would cause glancing blows to blow up the whole thing. At least he didn't pinch pennies on the Death Star, or the Battle of Yavin would have REALLY sucked...

Another thing is that we get to see Chewbacca. Obviously they couldn't have shown how Han Solo saved Chewie's life, because Han would have been like 6 at that time, which is the ONE thing that hasn't been explained by the movie. That and the whole cargo thing.

You know what? Han's story needs to be told! Hopefully Lucas will realize this and make Star Wars III 1/2: All About Han Fucking Solo!

I digress. Anyways, I noticed that the actor playing Anakin looks kinda like Mark Hamil, which really sets the mood for awesome foreshadowing when he's in full robes, how Luke would later look like that going into Jabba's pad.

Also, the reason why Anakin turned to the Dark Side was excellent...and you really do feel sorry for him...and also makes you think...would you do the same in his place?

R2D2 gets to play a good part not only as comic relief but he also kicks some metal ass for a bit.

For a while, looking at Grievous, I wondered "Why would a droid cough like that?"

Then I saw he was somewhat organic. Then I wondered "Why would they give a cyborg such crappy ass armor?"

Also, I finally figured it all out about lightsabers. The Sith sabers aren't red because of their evil intent or anything...see, the crystals used to make the Sith sabers are synthetic. The blues, greens, and purples come from natural crystals. As further evidence, look at the other films. If I'm not mistaken, X-Wing blasts and several other beams are red.

Finally, I'd have to say the movie was a perfect set-up to the original series, if you don't mind knowing how Han got to where he did and stuff.
