Gameplay: 5/5
The gameplay of UL is very simple, hack and slash. Run around and kill enemys while checking your quest log to see the place that your supposed to go next. A lot lot of bonus missions make the game easily last up to 20+ hours, but if you plan on leveling up to 50 and getting the best armor, you could spend up to 50+ hours on this game. The game includes 4 characters, the Knight, a good melee fighter, the Alchemist, your basic spellcaster, the Druid, a healing/nature kind of spell caster, and the Berserker, a melee fighter thats fast but doesnt have as much armor as a knight.
Story: 3/5
There is a story, its just not really elaberate. When you start up a game they show a prologue, which just words and a slideshow backround. Nothing to exciting. After beating the final boss you get an epilogue with a slideshow backround. Nothing too exciting. The story has never been a big part in a hack and slash RPG.
Visuals: 5/5
This PSP Launch Title really put a good impression on me showing how impressive PSP games will be. Since the majority of the game is running around from place to place you get to experiance the 3d character visuals.
Sound: 2/5
The music isnt anything special. The sounds all fit, like if you were to slash a sword it sounds like your slashing a sword. Nothing much to put here.
Multiplayer:` 3/5
The games multiplayer is the same as the single player except with more people. Infrastructure online play would of been a great addition, being its only Ad-Hoc so you can only play with your friends. If you have a high level friend that your playing with all the monstors will be adjusted to his level, but when he kills them, you get as much experiance as him, letting you level faster.
Replay Value: 5/5
The games replay value is great. The maps are randomly generated each time you play. With 4 characters the game can be fun to play over and over. If you play through the game in single player, its always fun to go and do it again with a friend if you never have.
Overall: 23/30
Aside from bad music, long loading times, and no online multiplayer this game is a RPG lover, PSP owners title.
