As you begin the game,you begin earning or losing points toward your SeeD
Ranking that you'll be given later in the game.The SeeD Rankings are broken
down into several categories:Conduct,Judgement,Attack,Spirit,and Attitude.
Your SeeD Ranking is determined by many factors;the choices you make,the
time you spend exploring between missions,how well you obey orders,and by
the number of enemies you defeat.If you want to achive a high SeeD Ranking
later,you'll need to abide by these factors now.
At the start of the game simply follow Squall's instructor,Quistis Trepe,
until she releases everyone from class.Speak with the other students,and
then return to Squall's desk and access the Study Panel.Select the Tutorial
section titled "new" and you'll automatically receive your first two Guardian
Forces(GF),Quezacotl and Shiva.Before you equip your two new GFs,take some
time to go through the Tutorial section and learn all about the basic controls
and concepts in FFVIII.
Hey,you can get a starter deck of cards from the guy in the hall.The deck isn't
all that but it's better than nothing right.You can also get cards buy teaching
your new GF Quezacotl the Card ability.(This ability changes enemies after they
have been weakend into cards.)
Now I'm going to give you a tour of the garden.It's a pretty big place and you don't
want to get lost.
Dormitory
This is where you'll find Squall's room.At various times during the game,you will be
asked to return here.You can use Squall's bed to restore any lost HP for your partymembers or GFS,or save your game using the Save Point.
Parking
Any and all Vehicles used by SeeD are stored here.You'll typically only come here when
you need a set of wheels.
Training Center
Those wishing to brush up on their fighting skills can visit the Training Center at any
time.There are monsters roaming around freely inside the Training Center,so use caution
when entering.This is a great place to build up Squll and his GFs at the beginning of the
game.
