The Basilisk Egg

Meg walks along the shore of Hogwarts Lake, fingering the star ruby hung on a thin golden chain around her neck. She watches idly as a toad jumps from a brownish-coloured egg into the lake. Looking at the egg, she sees that it is a chicken egg, and has a large crack through it. A scaly snake pokes its head out, just as Meg remembers something, and shuts her eyes, taking several strides backwards. 'A basilisk is hatched from a chicken's egg under a toad...'

Meg slightly uncovers her eyes to see the young, yet deadly basilisk slinking across the grass towards Hogwarts.

Trista comes out of hogwarts looking at a chipped piece of glass. I can't believe it. How could he break my grandmothers mirror. Suddenly she eyed something green in the mirror. Oh no not a boil on her face. She looked closer and suddenly she was found lying on the ground her mouth open in shock.

"Trista? What happened?" Asks clev when she sees Trista lying on the foor. Then she notices Trista's mirror, lying burnt on the grass. Clev takes a close look at Trista and sees that she isn't answering. She looked like she was made of stone. Clev takes Trista to the hospital wing, where she is told that Trista is petrified.

Wolfperson, who was finishing up a detention at the hospital wing (it was from Snape)said, "Not another one. They have been getting petrified people all day. I'm stuck here because I went into the forest. Where was she when this happened? I have to finish this form so that I can leave."

"Are you through with detention, Wolfperson?" Hari pokes her head through the door to the hospital wing. "We're supposed to get back to the hockey ga...sheez, what's with the statue collection?" She looks over Wolfperson's shoulder to the form on the table. "Petrified? Oh great, basilisk...nice way to start the day. Does anybody have an idea where the puppy is? Any dead roosters lying around??"

"Yeah. I just finished. I don't think I'm going to play hockey right now, though. I've got work to do." Wolfperson and Hari walk out leaving the others in the hospital wing.

Leila rushes into the hospital wing, panting.
"I just found a dead body outside! I don't know who it is!" Madame Pomfrey runs outside grimly. She returns pulling a sixth year boy Leila doesn't know. "He's not dead, just petrified. We need to catch that basilisk, and quickly."
Leila gets a thoughtful look on her face. "Yes. It needs to be caught..." She runs up to her room.

Meg runs into the Hospital Wing, panting. Seeing the petrifed people, she shakes her head in dismay.
"I followed it for a while," She explains, but then it went up into the drain pipe... She stops as she hears a scream from up the corridor.

As Meg hears the scream, she runs up the steps and finds Gretchen(Me! heehee).
Meg found out that Wolfperson was being funny and came up behind her to scare her -- but it was only a joke.
By now it was Midnight, and Meg had went to sleep because they didnt have astronomy class tonight. Anyways, Meg was having dreams about the Basilisk egg...

"Hey I got some basilisk-proof gogles from my uncle. He does a show that focuses on magical creatures. I'll get everyone a pai and we can go hunting for it. I only have eight so it is first come first serve. Any others will have to stay in back. Goggle people will go first." Wolfperson quickly runs up to the Ravenclaw commons and gets the goggles.

Clev waits for wolperson impatiently. When he gets back, she asks for a pair of goggles.

Meanwhile Trista is pertrified and is feeling a sense of highness. She suddenly starts walking around the hospital cackling.

Meg meets Clev and Wolfperson outside their commonrooms, Wolfperson holding several pairs of goggles.
"You got them?" She asks, "Could I have a pair?"

"Sure." Wolfpperson hands out the goggles and puts the rest in a bag."Lets go find the basilisk before anyone else gets petrified.

Jenna summons the basilisk into her dorm. My dear she says with closed eyes. She sends the basilisk upon Meg who has no idea that those glasses are FAKE!

Meg sees the Basilisk coming down the hall from a distance. She shoves the glasses on, but they break as soon as they are covering her eyes. Someone has swapped them for fakes. Thinking quickly, she casts a Burning Eye hex on the approaching Basilisk. It stops dead in its tracks and howls in pain. The basilisk shuts its eyes.

"Someone has been in my room. Quick! Grab it!"

As Meg, Wolfperson and clev' ran to grab the basilik, Ilana (who was coming from her dorm to see what the noise was about) walks round the corner and see's the basilik only a step away slithering towards her, stunned she manages to step backwards only to trip over the basilisk's tail.

This slows it down long enough for the others to grab it but no one grabbed the head. That was a dangerous mistake. It swung it's head around and bit...

...the stone pillar. Though the basilisk was only several metres high, it looked murderous as it wrenched its teeth out of the cracking pillar. Meg turns and runs, looking inspired, as the basilisk slowly opens its blooshot eyes. The others can only just make out her voice travelling down the corridor: "The roosters! Their cry is fatal to the basilisk!"

While everyone else is distracted by Meg, Wolfperson grabs the basilisk's head.
"Anyone have a sash?" she asked.

Having to recover quickly, Ilana looked around for something to bind the basilisk's eyes with, while wolfperson and clev' held it down.
"oh my, oh my, oh my," she repeated as she heard one of them cry: "Hurry up!!!"
Finally she quickly took off her hair ribbon and pointed her wand at it, "Engorgio." The ribbon became five times it size and Ilana chucked it to wolfperson, but the basilisk had gotten loose.......
(What will happen next, someone else decide.)

"We should try to keep it here until Meg gets back. impedimenta" The basilisk slows down."Quick grab it now! The spell is only temporary"

Celaeno who had been behind them grabs the stupid thing trying to choke the basterd while the other two tie it up. They all sat on it hoping it wasn't strong enough to throw them off...

Meg runs down the hall, a rooster tucked firmly under her arm. The basilisk falls limp as she and the screeching rooster approach. It is dead. Too easy, Meg thinks, There's got to be more to it... And sure enough, as she arrives several smaller basilisks slither out of a crack in the floor...

"k, we can't stay here, there's too many, even though they're young basilisks - their fangs are still very poisonous, someone decide what to do now and quick"

Meg becomes a fox, and walks swiftly over to the stone wall. She noses at a slightly darker stone in the wall, and it moves back to reveal a secret passage...

Celaeno becomes a harpy and starys pecking away at the little blighters. She finds that in her form snake tastes good!
"Yummm"
She rips a bunch apart and slurps them down like noddles. But still there are too many. So she just keeps going killing with her talons. "OOOOh, Shish-kabobs! He He He!" Then finaly she retreats down the passageway with Meg and the rest.

The others follow Meg doubtfully along the small stone passageway. Those with cloaks pulls them tight around their freezing bodies when...
"Oh no..." Meg turns to them in human form. She has come out into a large room, seemingly empty. She swears, and steps aside for the others to see. In the centre of the room, a large pile of chicken eggs are lying. Several toads are hopping around. And in the middle of it all, stands a dark figure, too short to be anything but a student. "It's a basilisk breeding farm." Meg whisperers. "There's thousands of them!"

"Accio" The Ravenclaw Quidich brooms come flying into the hands of the students."Let's try to fly over them. If we don't we have no chance."

But Meg is not paying attention to this, instead she is looking at the student in the centre of all the young basilisks. She chews her lip, recognising them straight away. "It can't be..." She mutters, "Why, it's..." Someone continue.

Why, it's Albus Dumbledore!
Clev couldn't beleive her eyes. She remembered that Dumbledore had just walked into Professor McGonagall's office to talk to her about the Quidditch game schedule for Gryffindor.
So who was he? The man looked just like Dumbledore, except he was a bit shorter. Could this be Dumbledore's twin brother? And if so, why was he here and not with Dumbledore? Clev was confused.

"That's not Dumbledore!" Wolfperson says.
"What do you mean?" someone shouts.
"His beard is shorter and whiter that Dumbledore's. Didn't you hear that his brother was jealous? He went insane. He's determined to get revenge because Dumbledore became Headmaster and not him."

Aberforth Dumbledore smiles a cruel smile, a secretive smile, an insane smile. "Smart, very smart. Did you also know that I was a parselmouth?" Meg looks at him, disgusted. Her brilliantly red hair is coming out of its French braid.
"Why are you bothering to do this? If nobody else can stop you, Dumbledore will."
"Yeah!" Someone else pipes up, "We could just go back and tell him right now!"
Aberforth stares at them, a demonic glint in his grey eyes, quite unlike Albus Dumbledore's, which are a sparkling blue. "Then I'd better make sure you don't leave - Ever..." He yells something in parselmouth, and the hundreds of basilisks advance on the startled group.

"I've a Ravenclaw. Of corse I'm smart. I'm sorry but I must say that Dumbledore is a better wizard then you will ever be." Wolfperson turns into an eagle and attacks Aberforth.
"Hey look there's Fawkes..."

And indeed the brilliantly red bird was soaring down from the roof as the snakes began to slither forward. Aberforth gave a cry of rage and began shooting curses at Fawkes, ignoring the young basilisks, their fangs dripping with venom and their eyes full of malice...

Lucky jumps from behind a rock and say! "Snakes scootersas" The snakes fly into the water! "Sorry but he is related!"

"You do?" Meg looks surprised. "Dragons are beautiful! My cousin has an Opaleye, and Alyson has a really sweet Tasmanian Bushdragon. Rupert's less than a metre tall."
