Dear Readers, Those of you who have read Death of a Nationalist (and who know Madrid) will perhaps remember the Atocha station, the lovely neighborhood surrounding it, and Madrid's metro network, which remains one of the finest in the world. In light of the horrible attacks on the Madrid cercanías trains on the morning of March 11, it seems frivolous to speak of Gonzalo's beloved city without extending my deepest sympathies to all of the madrileños (and foreigners) who lost loved ones in the bombing. That said, here are a few updates about the books: Law of Return, the second book in the Tejada series, is now available in hardcover, at Amazon.com and directly from Soho Press. Meanwhile, Death of a Nationalistwhich just came out in paperback, was nominated for an LA Times Book Prize in the mystery/thriller category and an Edgar for best first mystery, two honors for which I was totally unprepared. I'll be attending the Virginia Festival of the Book, in Charlottesville, Va. March 25-28. Then I'll be in LA for the LA Times Festival of Books the weekend of April 24. Hope to meet some of you there in person. Salud camaradas. Happy reading. Rebecca Pawel
