Galactic Cooperative - Mission Report
Form 110-2
Officer Filing Report - Lieutenant JG Ray Parancema, Security
Chief, CSS Prometheus
MISSION PARAMETERS:
Stardates inclusive - 23.01.217 to 24.01.217
Phases - 3 sorties (2 combat related)
CAPSULE:
On Stardate 23.01.217, the CSS Prometheus (Contracted cruiser-class vessel, Captain Lord Calvin Hobbes commanding) and CSS Genesis (Co-Operative Owned assault scout class vessel, Commander Volo Vrax commanding) was activated for duty after a four week stand down time. The vessels both proved spaceworthy and the fleet scored a 73% completion rating. Ratings were lower than last mission yet are well above the Co-Operative average of 44%. The following changes were made to the crew and vessel compliment under Capt. Hobbes command:
Medical 1 Centurion Julius Faubus was replaced with Centurion Nog Trebbin (acting Med 1 and current Med 2)
Security Chief Centurion Yellow Stonefly was reassigned to Security Officer and remains at the position.
CSS Genesis (Cooperative Owned Assault
Scout) duty roster changes included:
Centurion Maxmilliam Montgomery (KIA) was
replaced temporarily by Centurion Yellow Stonefly
Sortie #1 - CSS Prometheus attached CSS Genesis and launched to accomplish the first part of its mission objectives. The staff met with a clan of primitive Yazirians that allowed information exchange and confirmed the suspicion that the Confederation does indeed have enemies in the region. The crew then continued on to the next objective. Ostensibly, the fleet was to discreetly enter the planet Waypoints surface and scan the planetary body. Unfortunately, the shuttlecraft was struck by deadly winds now known to originate from the vortex weapon in place on the surface. Thanks to heroic efforts by the pilots Centurion Yellow Stonefly and Commander Volo Vrax, the shuttle was landed relatively intact with no casualties. After scans indicated that the surface had large amounts of technology, the crew set out to find parts and inadvertently located a Confederation base that formerly belonged to the Co-Operative. Entering the base via covert means, the team neutralized the defenses and captured the third in command of the Confederation Armed Forces, Admiral Rothland Matar. As an unfortunate result of the battle, Centurion Lord Maxmillian Montgomery was killed. Two enemies were denoted as Hokuten, though little else was learned about them as the rotted away almost immediately upon cessation of life functions. The shuttle was repaired and returned to the Prometheus.
Sortie #2 Continuing on, the fleet
attempted to enter the Hokuten Enclave.
This was thwarted as the mission craft detached after great debate and
found that the area was surrounded by a blockade fleet and two carrier ships
that were surmised to have mines (Midshipman Edwards). The Genesis ran a patrol of the area and
plotted an escape route for the Prometheus to run to make good its escape. As the ships met, the Prometheus registered
no life forms. Members on the Genesis
boarded and found that they were indeed mission save the prisoner, Admiral Matar
and the yeoman of the vessel. It was
found through investigation that the ship had hit a pocket rift and was boarded
by spider-like insects that took the crew for food. The rift was reopened and the spiders realm was destroyed and all
hands were rescued. The fleet made a
daring escape through the blockade and returned to Prenglar for repairs.
Sortie #3 As it was deemed impossible to
enter the Enclave after recent events, the crew was assigned to a tertiary
objective the capture of the NobleNet relay system. Through contacts, the location was learned and the fleet set
after the system. A space battle near
Clarion Rift ensued, resulting in the destruction of 2 Confederation vessels
and moderate damage to both the CSS Prometheus and the CSS Genesis. Personnel totals were 0 killed and 8 wounded
(2 severely). In the battle, both
commanders displayed adequate command and tactical skills. The NobleNet command module was boarded and
taken. Commendations went to Centurion
Yellow Stonefly after review as his attack plan resulted in the successful
boarding and capture of the station.
The satellite ship was used in payment for the gleaned information
though the command module in Co-Op hands and will be used offensively soon.
Both vessels were put into port at Prenglar
for repairs and crews were ordered to stand down for a temporary time until new
mission parameters are designed.
Of line officers, Commander Volo Vrax was promoted to Captain and Lieutenant Shasta Pessi was promoted to Lt. Commander.
