Sarah Newtons Last Will and Testament, State of Tennessee Robertson County

I Sarah Newton do make and publish this as my last will and Testament hereby revoking and making null and void all other wills by me at any time made.

First I direct that my funeral expenses and all my last debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any money that I may die possessed of may first come into the hands of my executor/s

Secondly I give and bequeath to William W. (or M) Newton one Feather bed and consisting of Counterpains blanket and quilt.

Thirdly I bequeath to Elizabeth Ann Newton one Beauro one Sew Counter? and Red Star quilt.

Fourthly I bequeath to Nancy Ann Newton one did(unknown word)

Fifthly I bequeath to Anderson Newton one Red Star quilt not quilted,

Sixthly I bequeath to Caroline Newton one New Checked Cotton Dress one Calico dress one New Corded (unknown two words) one new cotton quilt.

Seventhly I bequeath to Eliza Ann Edwards Red Checkered Shawl,

Eighthly I bequeath to Nancy Stark two Calico Dresses,

Ninthly I bequeath all the rest of my property that I have not given away, except my Notes.

Tenthly I bequeath to John Newton my Notes after all expenses is paid.

Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint Giles Draughm as my Executor in Witness whereof I do to this my Will set my hand and seal this 24 day of April 1852.

Signed Sealed and published in our presence and we have subscribed Names hereto in the presence of the Testator, this 21st day of April 1852

State of Tennessee Robertson County Court August Term 1852

A paper attending? Purporting to be the last will and testament of Sarah Newton deceased was presented to the court for probate and thereupon came Richard Jones and John Sellers Subscribing Witnesses to said paper writing who being first sworn say that they were acquainted with Sarah Newton the Testator in her lifetime that she signed said paper in their presence, that she was of sound mind and disposing memory and that they witnessed said paper at her request the court therefore declare the said paper writing to be the last will and Testament of the said Sarah Newton and ordered that it be received and thereupon came Miles Draign? The Executor Appointed in said Will and renounced the Execution of said will and refuses to qualify as such.
