Henry Newton on the Left
and William Francis Newton Right are sons of William Gilbert Newton and his first wife America Bean. There was a middle boy Robert in one census. Of him no further record has been found. His first wife died eight days after William F. was born. Robert and Henry were born in Tennessee and William F. was born in Missouri. William is pictured below with his 2nd wife. William Francis Newton was born in Missouri and raised in Shawnee Mound by Louis Pate family, he and Ella are buried in Carrsville, Cemetery in Johnson, County. He and Henry visited each other as long as they lived. Goldie Henrys daughter, remembered him. |

Henry & Ema Williams, married in Misssouri. They lived in Warrensburg, then West Plains, then came to Indian Territory, Miami Oklahoma where they raised their family. They are buried in GAR cemetery Miami, OK. My children knew Emma as great grandma. Emmas ancestors are in Johnson Co. MO histories. Some are buried in Poast Oak Cem. Warrensburg. Arlie died at abt 12 and is bur. in New Liberty Church Cem. West Plains on what is now cousins farm land. |

William Gilbert Newton of Tennessee married Amanda Louise Pate (wife 2) in Warsaw Missouri. They lived in Louisburg, then Blairstown, and later went to Miami Oklahoma IT, where William was taken ill. Amandas brother Louis Pate & nephew Charles came and took them to Litchfield, KS where they helped the young boys get jobs in the Mines.
Floyd died in a mine accident.
Burney became a Policeman, his dtr liv KC
Jasper died in the Aragon Forrest in the War - his life for our country. His grave is in Arlington National Cem. W. D. C.
One daughter liv. Tulsa, one California
Amanda settled in Webb City where Burney was a policeman and there she is buried beside him. William lived with his in laws Robert and Margaret Bean in Dallas Co. MO until he married Amanda Pate. |
