(I had found Burneys obit which said Newtons came from Leeton, MO. II told the researcher`` if no Newtons are living there, to check with the "spit and whittle club" at the court house square". This was, how the researcher found Marie they said "The spit and whittlers at the court house said `` try Marie Newton Lockard at Leeton Missouri! We did and the connection was made that produced the only known photo of our common ancestor William Gilbert Newton, and the Bible records of his second wife Amanda Pate Newton from Maries sister in California. She wrote "HI cousins!" | ||||||||
