Notes for WILLIAM FRANCIS NEWTON and wife GEORGIA ELLEN ROGERS:

That his mother died about 8 days after his birth is family lore from his daughter in law Lois Boone Newton. His death certificate states "unknown" for birth place. Informant was his wife.

Henry Newton of Warrensburg MO the brother of William Francis, visited with his brother throughout his life and the two families were known to each other. For instance: Goldie the daughter of Henry and Emma remembered the "good dinners" that Amanda Pate their step grand ma and her daughters Alice and Flora cooked when they visited them in Webb City Missouri.

Marriage Certificate of William and Ella states he is from Shawnee Mound, Henry Co, MO she from Petersburg.

William was raised by Louis Pate family. He was told he had a brother Henry Newton living near Miami Oklahoma.   Paul the son of William Francis Newton only heard about the Pates when they came to visit when he was a child and he heard William call him "dad".   William seems to have been placed with the brother of his fathers second wife Amanda Pate.  Information: Lois Boone Newton.
