Implementation and Integration of FMS
Implementation and integration are equally important. Though one precedes the other, these two activities merge into each other and must succeed as a whole.
Objectives are putting desired systems, both automation, control systems, manpower and procedures in place. Getting them up and running constitutes the implementation process, as opposed to the preliminary conception of the systems.
In short, implementation involves installing an FMS and integration involves making it work in tandem with existing and desired systems.
When we view implementation of FMS as a project, it acquires a special dimension: a transition phase to decrease reliance on supplier and vendor personnel and increase reliance on in-house personnel and expertise.
