Shia Islamists of Pakistan
There are several Islamist political organisations representing Pakistans' Imami Shia community who make up around 20% of the total population. One of the main political groups are the Tehrik Jaferia Pakistan, Tehrik Nifaz Jaferia Pakistan and Tehrik Fiqah Jaferia. Militant outfits include the Sipah-e-Muhammad, Sipah-e-Abbas and Sipah-e-ahl-e-Bait.
Islami Tehrik Pakistan
Allama Sajid Naqvi is the leader of the newly formed Islami Tehrik Pakistan which has formed an alliance with other Sunni based Islamist parties. This alliance is called the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) lead by the Jamaat-e-Islami leader, Qazi Hussein Ahmed.
Sipah-e-Muhammad
Sipah-e-Muhammad is a sectarian milita opposed to the Deobandi militants like SSP and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. It was founded in 1993 by Maulana Mureed Abbas Yazdani who opposed TJP's more pacifist nature in dealing with Deobandi extremists. It is also a banned organisation in Pakistan under the anti-terrorist act.
Kashmiri militancy
The two main Shia guerilla movement operating in Indian Kashmir are the Hizb ul-Momineen and the Lashkar-e-Karbala.
