At a minimum, the following 3 free programs
(downloads.com) should be installed and checked for latest updates on a regular basis:
. Spybot: searches and destroys spyware. Spyware keeps track of computer activities such as what sites are visited.
3. An Anti Virus program is a must for every computer; it should always remain active (running) and be updated for latest Virus Definitions on a regular basis. AVG Anti-Virus System - a free program . After installation, it should be updated. Newer versions of this program will update automatically, but are not free.
Windowwasher: cleans up Internet sites (IE Cache) of cookies and temporary files. Note: temporary Internet files can carry and spread viruses; all temp files can be deleted without any negative impact.
