What's in a Name

Many times I have been asked why I picked the nickname Royal Black Watch.  Here are the reasons:

1.  The Battletech/Mechwarrior series of books, board games and computer games is one of my favorites.  The name Royal Black Watch is used in the book series.  The Royal Black Watch is the house guard (regiment) for the First Lord of the Star League.  The RBW is made up of the most elite mechwarriors.  

2.  The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada.  This regiment is one of the best Canada has ever put on to battlefield.  You can see the Regiments web site at:

I am Canadian and proud to be from Canada.  I regret that I never joined the Canadian military.  With the police career I have now, I have trained at the Land Forces Training Base at Canadian Forces Base Meaford and flown in C-130's and Labrador Helicopters at Canadian Forces Base Trenton.  Every time I attend at these bases I admire and I am proud of the people there. 

3.  The name sounds cool.
