| Open taxis are waiting at the end of the pier. The rate to Coki beach is $8 pp and $18 to Orient beach, one way. The driver is more than happy to come back for you and drive you back, but it is probably safer to get another one, there is always at least one of these parked at the beach. The original driver may be maximizinng his profits by picking up other people and you may be stuck waiting for them to get off the beach. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| There is plenty of shopping right at the pier, but who wants to spend time shopping when there is so much to do at the island! We decided to take a taxi to the beach and devote perhaps the last hour before boarding to exploring the stores. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Arriving at the beach, I was surprised how small it was. It was supposed to be less crowded than other beaches, but I think that quite a few people were under the same impression. Even though there was a good number of visitors here, I didn�t find the number of people intrusive. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| I liked the shallow beach and the fact that it is situated in a bay, which probably made the water warmer. On the left side, opposite to the underwater observation deck ahead, the rocks were ideal for snorkeling, being home to a number of varieties of colourful fish. | There are also a few small restaurants and a public washroom/changeroom area, which I would try to avoid. The beer was sold at the beach for about $3 and about half the price at a kiosk on the street. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
