for gold and trade
they assumed the land was free
the "Injun problem"
was neatly solved
by Manifest Destiny
their land they took
their food they killed
their country they did ravage
and out of fear
and out of greed
they killed the "filthy savage"
they took away their pride
and destroyed their motivation
when they gathered them together
upon a reservation
now many of them live in squalor
the forgotten native people
unless, by our nation's great big heart,
they're allowed to run casinos
why, why?
why can't you understand?
there is a living soul
in the heart of every man
we're all God's creatures
no matter what your color
the skin in this life
is for the soul
a paltry fleshly cover
