Grand Opening of the
Judo Centre of Excellence

The formal opening of the new Centre of Excellence for Judo took place on Sunday 23rd May, 2004 at Walsall Sports Centre, University of Wolverhampton.
In the morning a series of 'Coach to Coach' workshops took place and in the afternoon, Solihull players joined over 130 Midland judokas for an official photograph commemorating the opening. The photograph will take pride of place at the Sport Centre. The buffet and social afterwards was an opportunity to chat with lots of old friends from the past!
The Centre will be a superb facility for the Midlands with a permanent judo mat 14m x 26m) and the availability of four mats for events.
A training session will take place at the Centre every Monday from 8.00 - 10.00 pm.
