Last Year Round Up

During the last year we established quarterly meetings to which both parents and coaches attended. These meetings have been very positive and provided ideas for raising money for club funds.

Many thanks must also go to Cadburys for their donation of £1000 towards club funds.

The club provided 50% of the cost for Adidas competition suits for young members who had been attending the club for a period of 12 months or more. Club Volunteer coaches were also provided with free suits. The club visited Italy taking two coaches and five young judo players. The object of the trip was to form links with an Italian Judo Club. The trip was self-funding with a view to taking a larger party of judo players in the near future.

 Party

Due to the fact we had to cancel the Christmas party for reasons beyond our control we have now arranged to have an Easter party for the kids on Friday 31st March 2006 at Norman Green. We will need the help of as many parents as possible in providing some of the foods required.

Gradings

The club now has an increased number of graded players in the first two sessions. These range all the way up to orange belts. You can help your child with the gradings with the aid of the sheet provided by the BJA supplied with your new membership or your last grading pack.

Membership

If you would like to become a member of the British Judo Association you can find all of the details on the Internet by visiting: www.britishjudo.org.uk Here you will find details on membership rates and how to apply. You will also find full details of upcoming events, guidelines and policies

Fund Raising

Throughout the year we are planning to have a series of events to help raise funds for the club to enable us to have things like the Christmas Party. Summer BBQ and possibly a summer camping weekend. These funds would also be used to fund the training of instructors, equipment that may be required and any possible club events.
