"We won bronze."
"It was a nail-biting semi-final - we lost 4 - 3 to London (who went on to get the Gold). So we were very close to getting into the final. It was very pleasing as it was the first time in several years the women's Team were in medal position
"

When Player-of-the-Month in June 2001, Lena was described as a `ferocious stick of dynamite', it is not surprising therefore to report that on Sunday the 17th March 2002 at the South of England Open Veterans Championships Lena won the Gold medal in her category, bringing her within 6 tantalising points of her 3rd Dan.
Lena is the current National Veterans' Champion - having won gold in the British Open last September 2001. We also know Lena won gold at the World Masters Championships in Canada in 2000. She is fighting again to try and regain this title in Northern Ireland this coming June 2002.

CONGRATULATIONS _ Lena.
And, we wish you all the very best in Northern Ireland.
