Pete's sessions reflected Pete himself:

Fun

Intelligent

Achievement through hard work

One would arrive at the club often feeling `worse for wear' after a day's work but the `buzz atmosphere' he created seemed to motivate you as soon as you stepped onto the tatami - forget everything else! - you are here to think and play Judo!

Pete's uncompromising intolerance of bad technique was certainly one of his trade marks and one which caused me more than a few problems in my time!

Although he always had time for all Judo players, Pete's real passion was training the elite players. The depth of talent he produced over the years from his club was really quite remarkable in itself; but perhaps even more significant is the deep respect and affection all these champions hold for Pete.
