2008

Clive with Tony Sarwar

Clive writes:
As requested in 2008 I've only done three tournaments:-

World Masters in June - lost both fights in the individual competition.
However, in the teams, I was the lightweight in the Great Britain over 50's team with Tom Moyse (middle weight)
and Jim McKelvie (heavy weight).
We beat the Russian team in the semi-final and lost to Romania in the final.
I was the only member of our team to win in the final (by 10 points as the Romanian retired injured).
Stan Cantrell was our unofficial manager. So we had the Silver medal. This is my second World team medal as I won Silver in Tours.

National Masters - Walsall - Silver medal in U66Kg over 45s - lost to Paul Sawyer (again!)
Samurai Masters - this Sunday - Bronze medal in U73Kg over 40s -
I was older and lighter than all the other competitors in this category.
I'm hoping to enter the Welsh Masters in December as my last competition of the year.

2007

Yet another medal for Clive
At the
BJC National Championships
20th November, 2005
Hereford
Clive entered the u/66kg category - Dan Grade Seniors and fought his way to a Bronze Medal. He says that's it now for 2005
thank you.

At the
British Masters Championships
17th September, 2005
UEA Sports Park, Norwich
Clive excelled himself becoming British Masters' Champion in his category.

Clive Biggs u.66 kg. had a superb day fighting his way to gold. And not content with this, he also entered the u. 73 kg category, in order to secure a few more bouts - he always was a sucker for punishment!
Great news Clive.

At the High Wycombe Masters on the 15 May 2004
Clive Biggs
was the only Solihull player to enter the tournament. He fought in the u/66kg weight category and true to form, two of his fights went to golden time.
In the end Clive came away with bronze.

Well done Clive.

Well done again to Clive Biggs for coming home with yet another (bronze) medal.
On Saturday 27 March 2004 Clive took part in the Multi-Nations European Masters Championships at the UEA Sports Park, Norwich.
He competed in the u/63kg category and had to fight several hard bouts going to 'golden-time' in some to win his medal.

Well done again to Clive Biggs for coming home with yet another (bronze) medal.
On Saturday 14 February 2004 Clive took part in the two-day International London event at the Excel Centre in the Docklands. There were over 1000 entrants. Clive entered in the u/65kg category but was obliged to move up to the u/73kg (o/45 years).
Didn't stop him getting amongst the medals!

Well done to Clive Biggs for coming home with yet another medal. Where does he gets his stamina from? On the 16th November 2003 Clive entered the BJC National Championships at Hereford and gained bronze in the u. 66 kg category. This was a Senior event and Clive found himself up against players a good twenty years younger than himself.

Since winning his 4th Dan (see below), Clive has won Bronze and Silver medals at this years' (2003) British Kurash Tournament. See the full report via the LINK on the Home Page.

On the 20 September 2003 Clive at the British Masters' Championships in Norwich won Gold in his category (u/66kg) and in the process obtained his 4th Dan.
