Who are Beaver Scouts?

Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family.  Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony.

Over the past years they have taken part in various 'Beaverees', Handicraft Competitions and other District Events.  They have made copious Christmas decorations, sweets, food and other handicrafts.  They have explored variety of themes and topics.  They have learnt to share and play co-operative games.  They have been bowling, nature rambling, pond dipping, treasure hunting etc.  They have experienced fund raising, fireworks parties, backswood cooking, pancake making, tracking and explored environmental issues.
