I am a 58-year-old Grandma that is disabled with COPD. This letter is a plea for help.p; A plea to find someone to help me, find someone to help my grandson.
My grandson is being charged with capital murder. I know my grandson did not commit this crime. My grandson is not a murderer.
I am on a fixed income and his mother has no money to hire an attorney either.
We are depending on the mercy of the court to do right by our boy. But they want to make an example of our boy because he was the oldest in a robbery gone bad.
His name is Jeff he just turned 24 in January.
I'm not saying he shouldn't be punished for his part, but he should not get the death penalty. The court says they are making an example of him because he is the oldest and he has a record.
Yes he does have a record. But he has never had a violent charge of any kind only petty theft. He is not a murderer. All charges were when he was a minor. He turned 21 in prison.
A 17 year old did the killing. The 17 year old was bragging how he kept kicking the man in the head. Jeff had tried to stop the boy. A big boy I might add. Jeff is not a big person. When he couldn't make him stop Jeff left. Jeff never put his hands on the man. He went to his car and smoked some dope.
Jeff didn't even know the man was dead until the officers told him.
Jeff is being railroaded. His court appointed attorney has not subpoenaed his records nor has he even looked at evidence against my grandson. My boy has been in jail in Conroe for almost 9 months.
Please someone save my boy. This is a tenderhearted boy; he would never hurt anyone on purpose. It is just not in him to hurt anyone or anything. He has never even been hunting. He can't kill.
It just makes me sick to see all the money being spent on hogs, chickens and turkeys in the fat stock show and my precious boy is fighting for his life with what ever the courts hand him because we can't afford counsel.
Is there an attorney out there that is willing to shake up things with the truth, to make a name for himself?
You give someone the death penalty when they are a menace to society. Jeff is no menace. He is no killer. He is a tenderhearted person.
The law enforcement is untrustworthy in Conroe. I know this fact to be true from personal experience. The law told me if I would file on him they would make sure he got into a rehab for drugs. They never got him into a rehab. Just kept him in prison.; It is my fault he had a felony on him. I should never have filed on him. I wouldn't have if they hadn't promised to get him off drugs.
It is my prayer that some attorney will come to his aid and help him fight for his life. To have the trial moved to another county where all the judges, officers and all, don't know him.
