I am doing Ph.D in the field of Irrigation
and Water Resources Engineering under supervision of
Associate Professor Ir Dr Mohd Amin
Bin Mohd Soom in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering
under Faculty of Engineering of Universiti Putra
Malaysia (UPM). My educational qualifications include
a B.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering from the Banagladesh Agricultural
University (BAU), and an MS in Irrigation Engineering from
the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). My MS dissertation was based on research
on "Water Management for Kerian Irrigation Scheme using GIS". My Ph.D research
goes on "Modeling Water Allocation of a Run-of-River Rice Irrigation
Scheme". I firmly believe that most problems in agriculture cannot be addressed
by a single discipline.
I jointly worked with senior resercher
Dr. Md. Masud Karim, Dainichi Consultant
Co Ltd, Japan. I am a professional member of Institute of Engineers of
Banagladesh (IEB).
I was born in a farming family in a
village of Pabna District, Bangladesh. My wife, Mst Dilruba
Khatun, is a Fisheries Graduate of Bangladesh
Agricultural University and she has
completed "Master of Science in Aquaculture"
in December 2002. Her master's dissertation
was carried out on "Pathogenic Activities of EUS (Epizootic Ulcerative
Syndrome) Fungus Associated with Aeromonad Bacteria".She
is interested in improving her skills. I have a lovely daughter (Hrideeta
Kamal) born on 16 December 2001.
During pursuing my PhD studies in Malaysia, Bangladesh Government (The
Ruling Four-party Alliance Govt) has illegally terminated my merit scholarship
under Bangabandhu Fellowship PhD Project in March 2002. Government
has no right to terminate the fellowship
for the continuing students .
