A dive in the fishbowl.

The tropical ocean seems really like an aquarium full of incredibly colored fishes. We are not expert in tropical fishes, we found the names into the Internet (thanks to FINS and eTropicals.com). We didnt find the name of all the fishes we shot photos to, and we are not certain of the names that we found. If anyone can help us to recognize the fishes please write us.
The pictures in this page were shot snorkeling at Ke'e beach and Poipu beach, next to the shore, without any particular equipment, only diving mask, snorkel and one-use waterproof cam.

This is a pretty common fish you can easily find in the barrier reef: chaetodon lunula (common name: racoon butterfly)
Another pretty fish swimming next to the shore: chaetodon auriga (common name: auriga butterfly)
This fish seems more delicate. it can be a "damsel sargeant major"
This one seem quite transparent, with his delicate tone of light blue
A thing that surprise is to find so different shapes and color for the fishes that live together... quite as a teaching for some human beings... :-). The one with the stripes is an acanthurus triostegus (common name: convict tang), what about the yellow one?
A really strange color for this acanthurus olivaceus (common name: orange shoulder tang)
This fish has a particular color of intense dark blue, with one stripe of dark orange next to the head. If you know its name please write us.
This is another very common fish in the barrier reef, its big size does not worry maybe for the funny aspect. Naso lituratus (common name: naso tang)
Another naso tang. Why this strange name?
A very elegant drawing on the skin of this unknown fish
Vertical black stripes for this couple of acanthurus triostegus (common name: convict tang)
The bright colors of this fish make it look like a highlighter felt pen.
The shape of this fish is quite different than the others, it is long and thin, and it uses to hide in the little waves of the ocean surface.
Another "highlighter" fish :-)

It is not unusual to swim within a big school of fishes like this.

On the contrary it is unusual to find a fish pretty like this "rowena-fish"...
...or handsome like this other "dario-fish" :-)
