You and Me
If I yell at you, You'll yell back at me.
If iIsteal from you, You'll steal back from me.
If I hit you, you'll hit me.
If I hurt you, you'll hurt me.
If I hate you, you'll hate me.
If out of my fear of you,
my ignorance pervading me,
I try and compete with you,
afraid in my ignorance
that you will overpower me,
I blindly cast you in the role
of my own enemy.
and you'll have no choice
but to compete with me.
But if by some miracle
the light shines threw.
Banishing from me
the fear I have of you.
If only I could see the truth
I'd let you befriend me.
for
If I help you, you'll help me
If I give to you, You'll give back to me.
If I Comfort you, you'll comfort me.
If I love you, you'll love me.
If I truly care for you,
you'll have no choice but to care for me.
Recognising this truth, we would both be
Better off than alone, we could ever be.
