Since 1994, Rowan Marketing has been an independent manufacturers rep for industrial components covering the Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas territory. Coverage is provided to all the major industries in the territory such as Oilfield, Telecom, Instrumentation, Capital Machinery, or Computer Devices, in addition to contract manufacturers and distributors throughout the four state area. In addition, Rowan Marketing is the North American agent for Swiss manufacturers of automated production equipment, and an agent for trade with Mexico, and proprietary consulting assignments. Tom Rowan, Jr., president of Rowan Marketing, is a engineering graduate with additional studies in management and marketing. Offering mainly nich� technical products, Rowan acts more as an applications engineer � working with customer�s designers; than as a conventional salesperson who sells mainly commodity products to buyers. Products offered include passive electronic components, electro-mechanical devices, and motion control products. Involvement in the customer�s design or production problems is characteristic of the personalized service Rowan offers to every customer. Following up on sales leads, or making pioneering sales calls are viewed as the seeds of tomorrow�s business. Tom has over 35 years of industrial experience including 15 years of design engineering of servo actuators and motor control systems at Plessey and Simmonds Precision. Rowan's 20 years of sales experience started as a sales engineer before moving up to regional manager and marketing director. As President of Schaffner EMC (RF Filters & EMI), and as General Manager at Hylsa Int'l (Trade with Mexico), and as Vice President of Sales at Johanson Mfg (Trimmer capacitors), Tom has always been involved with customer sales activities. During the 70's Tom published a World Energy Forecast as the VP/Partner in Economic Research Consultants. "ERC" was an industrial marketing research firm specializing in planning for petroleum industry products. Also, before starting Rowan Marketing, Tom worked with Wofford Electronics, a regional distributor of electronic components. The combined experience as engineer, salesmanager, marketing consultant, distributor and as a manufacturers Rep, provides valuable insight for both principals and customers.
