My pony
Is my best friend
The first one to understand me
The last one to leave my side

My pony
Nickers to me when I call her name
Her eyes light up
When she sees me
This tickles my heart

My pony
Has put me through a lot
But we came out on top
And still love each other
Now more than ever

My pony
Would climb a thousand hills
Jump a thousand fences
If I asked her to

My pony
Owns my soul
And hers is mine
We will be forever more
Entertwinned

My pony
Is leaving soon
I have grown too tall
Learned to ride too well
She is no longer the steed I need
All the love in the world
Cannot change that

Or make her any taller
Change her coat color
Make her want to jump higher

I will be sad
We will both, no doubt, be lost
But our lives will move on
Our hearts will find new things to love

Still, we will always have
Each other
In some small way
Long says spent together
Horse shows
Joint baths
Shared pain; shared love

I will never forget
My pony
She is the best friend
I will ever know
