Here are some tips for growing your own herb garden.

Most herbs like moderatly fertile, well drained soil.

Most Herbs prefer lots of sun. Catnip, Chamomile, Dill, Parsley, and mint are fine in the shade. Angelica, Candamon, Ginseng and Violets prefer the shade.

Starting Seeds Indoors

You Will Need:
Small containers
Germinating mix or potting soil
Seeds
Lables

Moisten your soil mixture and fill containers up 3/4 of the way. Plant seeds in clusters of 3-4. Slightly cover with soil. Cover with plastic wrap and put in a warm dark place.

Once your seedlings have sprouted move them to a sunny window. Preferably a window that gets alot of sun all day. Kepp moist until the seedlings are about 2in. tall. Then allow to dry between waterings.

You can transplant them at about 4-6 weeks.  Before you plant them outside you need to get them acustom to the sun by placing them outside for a few hours each day. After about a week you can either plant them in your garden or into pots to be placed outside.
