The Weiner Dog Memorial
To all of those who have lost a Dachshie
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. Pets who were expecially close to the people who loved them go to the Rainbow Bridge after they leave the earth, and here they wait. The land around the Rainbow bridge is all meadows and hills where animals run and play together. Food, water, sunshine, fresh grass, tall trees, and ponds for splashing are abundant. All the pets are warm, comfortable, and happy.  Those who had been ill, grown old, or hurt are made whole again and restored to full health, just as we remember them when we dream of our lives together.  All the animals are happy and content except for one thing.  They miss someone special to them, someone who had to be left behind.

One day, a little dachshund suddenly stops romping and looks up from his play, alert, eager.  His bright eyes stare intently into the distance.  His body wiggles eagerly.  Suddenly he breaks from the group and flies over the green grass, his short little legs carrying him faster than they have ever carried him before.  He has seen you and something he was missing has finally returned.  He leaps into your arms and covers you in dachshund kisses.  You cuddle him, stroke that familiar head, those long lovely ears, that silly beloved dachshund body.  You hug him, and know that you will never be parted again.  You look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

And then you cross the RAINBOW BRIDGE together.
