Woodson-Dear is a chid-centered school where students come first and teachers take risks and reach beyond. We strive to be a community that values caring, cooperation, and responsibility, self-control, and life-long learning. Everyone from administrators to our youngest children are growing and learning.

We believe in setting high expectations and providing children with a nurturing, safe, and supportive learning environment. It is the mission of the Richmond R-XVI School District to provide a safe educational environment for all students which will foster and accelerate their intellectual, physical, social, and career development on a path of life long learning. We believe learning is a journey and that journey should be meaningful and fun.

The success of our school community depends on the collaboration, commitment, and involvement of parents, students, teachers, and community members. Working together with our community we can continue to meet our goals and share our vision with others. Get involved in shaping the school community your child learns in by becoming parent members of our PTA organization and volunteering though the Youth Friends program. Come share our dreams and help us reach our goals!
