- Compare size and shape
- Count concrete items to 30
- Rote count to 50
- Compare more, less and same
- Sort and classify objects
- Write numbers to 50
- Write number indicating how many in a group up to 20
- Identify coins (pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters)
- Tell time to the hour
- Recognize before and after
- Copy and extend patterns (abab....)
- Recognize basic shapes (square, circles and triangles)
Reading
By the end of Kindergarten, all students should be able to:
- Read a variety of age-appropriate texts
- Recite the alphabet
- Recognize beginning rhyming words (cat, sat)
- Sequence four events (first to last)
- Write (print) first and last name
- Read basic sight words
- Identify letters in isolation (Upper case and Lower case)
- Identify beginning sounds in words
- Follow a two-step oral direction
- Classify pictures/objects into simple categories (food, animals)
- Identify the picture of the objects whose name starts with a given initial sound
