A quick update on my old 820i!. A few weeks before I sold it, it developed a major oil leak, which was getting onto the cambelt, which was spraying it all over the engine bay, making it very hard to trace. In Early May, I had a phonecall form James Copp-Taylor, a bit unhappy, as the cambelt had just shredded, bending all 16 Valves. It transpired that a cam oil seal had let go. Oops!

It has now been fully re-valved, and new seals installed everywhere, and apparently it is one of the sweetest sounding 820's around. Thanks to Jimmy Copp-T and his rapidly developing engine rebuilding skills, it lives to rev another day!
