BI-LAWS

Name, Purpose, and Goals

. Name - The official name of this club shall be "ROUTE 66 CRUIZERS" (hereinafter "Club" or "RT66CCC".

. General Purpose - The RT66CCC is a non-profit organization formed for the benefit of Classic Car and Classic Truck owners or enthusiasts and to enhance their enjoyment of owning or driving the Classic Auto.

. Special Club Goals

. To plan and regulate functions or activities including, but not limited to, technical sessions, social functions, competitive events, and assistance in obtaining parts, service, and discounts for members.

. To provide its members with access to knowledge about their cars and also provide a forum for members and other interested parties to exchange car information.

. To promote safe driving habits and enhance the driving skill of its members.

. To provide assistance to any motorist in distress when such assistance is both safe and feasible.

. To plan and regulate functions or activities designed to assist local charitable institutions.

. To HAVE FUN!!!

. Officers

. Elected Officers (Board) - The Board of the RT66CCC shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

. Duties of Elected Officers

. President - This officer shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the RT66CCC and shall, subject to the control by the membership, have general supervision, direction, and authority of the business and affairs of the RT66CCC. This officer shall preside at Board meetings and at meetings of the membership. In addition, this officer shall act as liaison officer between this club and other organizations.

. Vice President - This officer shall serve as assistant to the President and shall be Chairman of the membership committee. Also, this officer shall, in the absence of the President, perform the duties and have the powers of the President.

. Secretary/Treasurer - This officer shall insure a record of all minutes, votes, and attendance during Board and Membership meetings, attendance at other club functions are kept in the RT66CCC minute book. Shall keep adequate and accurate accounts of all moneys and values in the care of and to the credit of the RT66CCC with such depository as may be designated by the Board. This officer shall disburse funds of the RT66CCC as ordered by the Board, shall render to the Board and members, when requested, a record of the officers transactions as Treasurer, and of the financial condition of the RT66CCC. This officer shall have custody of RT66CCC financial records during their tenure. In the absence of the President, Vice President, and Secretary, this officer shall perform all of the duties and have all of the powers of the said officers.

Executive Board Members

This officer shall be one of four members for the check and balance of the membership.

To Always insure of a quorum to secure a proper representation of the membership.

Duties include: Make recommendation, represent member opinions and ideas.

May serve as a committee chairperson, member or appoint members as committee chairperson or committee member.

. Election of Board

. The Board of the RT66CCC shall be elected annually at the 1st July (annual) meeting and take office at the next Board meeting.

. Nominations and volunteers for the Board positions will be accepted beginning at the membership meeting prior to the end of year meeting and continue to be accepted until the beginning of voting at the banquet meeting.

. Nominees shall be members in good standing at the time of election.

. Officers shall be elected by simple majority of members in good standing in attendance at the annual meeting.

. Board positions shall be held for a term of one (1) year or until the first Board meeting following annual elections.

. Elected Officer Replacement

. In the event of any permanent inability of any Board member to fulfill their duties a replacement shall be elected, with all due haste, by the remaining Elected officers to fill the remainder of the term of office.

. Any officer found to be in gross violation of these By-laws or acting against the best interest of the RT66CCC, may be removed from office by majority vote of the Executive Board at a regular or emergency meeting.

. Appointed Officers

. The Board may appoint such other officers as the business of the RT66CCC may require.

. The Appointed Officers shall hold office for such period, have authority and perform such duties as required by the Board (i.e. newsletter editor, webmaster, ex-officio, etc.).

. Club Management

. The Board shall conduct and manage the affairs and business of the RT66CCC in the best interest of the membership.

. The Board shall propose such rules and regulations as may be necessary or convenient, provided those rules or regulations do not conflict with any known laws, votes of the membership, or these by-laws.

. Officers shall be expected to represent the RT66CCC by being present at Club functions.

. Physical custody of club records will be determined by the Board

. Fees and Compensation - Officers, elected or appointed, shall not receive any salary or fees for their services as officers, other than reimbursement of Board approved expenses for fun RT66CCC elections.

. Meetings of the Club

. Membership Meetings - Membership meetings shall be held regularly at a date, time, and location to be determined by the Board. Notice shall be given in advance by the best available and economic means. Meetings will be governed by the rules of the presiding officer.

. Board Meetings - Meetings of the Board are closed unless a member is requested to attend.

 

 

Emergency Meetings

. Any board member may call an emergency meetings of the membership may be called by the Board in order to conduct business of an urgent or emergency nature.

. The reason for the Emergency Meeting shall be stated and no other business shall be conducted at these meetings.

. Board members shall be notified of the date, time, and location of any Emergency meetings by the best available and economic means possible.

. Membership

. Memberships Fees

. Membership fees for members of the RT66CCC shall be established by the Board and approved by the members in attendance at a regular meeting.

. Types of Membership

. Single Membership - Any person, age 19 or older, interested in and willing to further the purpose of the RT66CCC shall be eligible for single membership. Such membership shall include full voting privileges, the right to hold office, and receive all benefits of membership

. Family (Dual) Membership - Any person and one other person, age 19 or older, living at the same residence (Primary and Secondary members). Primary or secondary members each have full voting privileges, and right to hold office as long as the membership is in good standing. Each person has one (1) vote to be utilized as individual members.

. Honorary Membership - Bestowed by the Board. No voting or office holding privileges. All privileges and revocation are at the discretion of the Board.

. Member in Good Standing

. Membership privileges take effect upon receipt of dues and fees by any Board member and continue for one (1) year until the end July.

. Dues are due on the first of July and become delinquent after the end of the month.

. Delinquent renewals, when paid revert to their original renewal month.

. Membership renewal will be accepted from 1 April till 31 July.

. Member Responsibilities

. Members shall maintain their vehicles, driver’s license, vehicle registration, and vehicle insurance, in accordance with all applicable laws of the states and localities in which it that vehicle is operated.

. The Club assumes no liability with regard to member's failure to comply with any laws, rules, or regulations.

. Guests and family members are encouraged to participate at RT66CCC functions or activities.

. Members, while representing RT66CCC shall conduct themselves in a civil upstanding manner, not using profane or offensive language or actions.

. Membership Revocation - Membership privileges may be revoked, by the Executive Board in attendance at a Executive Board meeting, if a member is found to be acting against the best interests of the RT66CCC or in gross violation of the by-laws.

. Benefits and Fees -The Board will assign all fees for and benefits of club functions or activities as fairly and equitably as possible.

 

. Legalities

. Personal Liability

. All persons or corporations extending credit to, contracting with, or having any claim against the RT66CCC, shall look only to the funds and property of the RT66CCC for payment of such contracts or claims.

. Neither the members of the RT66CCC nor the officers, present, past, or future shall be personally liable for any claims or contracts.

. Illegal Operations - The RT66CCC shall not knowingly organize, sponsor, plan, assist, sanction or allow its name to be associated in any manner whatsoever with any illegal functions.

. Amendment of By-laws - Amendments to these by-laws may be proposed by any members to any executive board member The vote to adopt or reject the proposed amendment shall be taken at the next regular membership meeting after a discussion period concerning that amendment. The board shall then adopt the amendment if it receives the majority vote of the board.

. Matters Not Stated - All matters not specifically provided for in the by-laws of the RT66CCC shall be controlled by the Elected Officers (Board).
